In depth food review long story short TERRIBLE !!!!!!!!! My recent visit to Seascape on the Water left much to be desired, and unfortunately, I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to fellow diners. The overall experience was marred by a combination of exorbitant prices, lackluster seasoning, and subpar preparation that fell significantly below expectations.
First and foremost, the pricing at Seascape on the Water was undeniably high. The menu showcased a range of offerings, but the costs were disproportionate to the quality of the dishes. The price point created a sense of anticipation for an exceptional dining experience, but alas, it only set the stage for a disappointing evening.
Upon placing our order, we opted for two steaks, expecting succulent, well-seasoned cuts. Regrettably, what arrived at our table were bland, under-seasoned steaks that lacked any distinguishing flavor. They paled in comparison to what one might find at a local supermarket, failing to meet the standard one would hope for at a supposedly upscale restaurant. The absence of adequate seasoning greatly impacted the overall enjoyment of the meal and left a lingering dissatisfaction.
The seafood tagliatelle was another letdown. We anticipated a luscious blend of flavors in a rich, well-prepared sauce. However, what was presented to us was essentially boiled pasta with a sparse sprinkling of herbs and tomato, devoid of the sauce that should have accompanied it. The dish lacked depth, complexity, and the essential seafood flavors we had anticipated. The absence of the promised sauce transformed a potentially delectable meal into a tasteless disappointment.
Furthermore, the ambiance and service did little to salvage the dining experience. The lack of attention from the staff and the absence of a proactive approach to addressing our concerns only heightened our dissatisfaction. Given the high prices and promises of quality, we expected an attentive and accommodating staff that would ensure a pleasant dining experience. Sadly, this was not the case, further adding to our disappointment.
In conclusion, my visit to Seascape on the Water was marred by the combination of exorbitant prices, severely under-seasoned steaks, and an unappealing seafood tagliatelle devoid of the promised sauce. The experience fell far short of the expectations set by the restaurant's pricing and reputation. I strongly advise potential diners to exercise caution and consider alternative dining options that offer a more satisfying and worthwhile...
Read moreWe recently celebrated an 18th birthday and family reunion at Seascape Restaurant & Bar with a group of 17 and enjoyed the experience immensely. I had been in contact with Frank from the Seascape Reservation Team over a number of weeks to make preparations for our event. Coordinating the number of guests seating, dietary requirements for a vegetarian and two 11-year-olds. Frank was absolutely incredible, professional, accommodating and genuinely helpful. Nothing was ever a problem, his communication and attention to detail removed all the stress from me. Walking up the staircase into the Seascape Restaurant & Bar, youâre immediately struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere surrounded by beautiful Australian woodwork, you get the sense youâre stepping into somewhere special. Then you look out at the stunning 180 degree view of a floodlit beach and lively evening Saturday markets. That set a beautiful backdrop that added to the ambiance to the venue. We had the three-course menu, with every dish exceeding our expectations. The entrees were a major hit, guests raved about the Wagyu Bresaola as well as the incredibly fresh, local seafood. The mains were equally impressive. The 800g Black Angus T-Bone was described as âexquisiteâ and the House-made Seafood fettuccine âsensationalâ. The Chicken fillet also received high praise. My vegetarian dish, recommended by Frank, was amazing, fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked and bursting with different flavours. Sides - House-baked bread, roast potatoes in burnt butter, smoked paprika, broccolini with kale and Caesar salad complimented the main dishes beautifully. Desserts continued to impress - the CrĂšme BrĂ»lĂ©e and Chocolate Fondant rich, creamy and indulgent. Seascape Restaurant & Barâs menu is well thought out and caters for all tastes. With an extensive Beverage, Premium Beer, Cocktails & Wine List everyone found something to enjoy. The food was delicious with a mix of textures, flavours and attention to detail. This was more than just a meal - it was an unforgettable night made special by exceptional food and beautiful views. The service was impeccable from start to finish. They went above and beyond, accommodating every request with professionalism, a smile, and attentiveness to all our needs. Huge thanks to Frank, the Restaurant Manager, the Chef and the entire Restaurant Team for making our...
Read moreVisited Seascape recently for an anniversary dinner and were blown away by the location, the food and the service. The staff were warm and friendly, a very professional team who know their food and wine. The view over the beach is perfect for a restaurant focussed on seafood and makes this a very classy spot for a meal.
We had the Chef's tasting menu for two, which at $89 pp was incredibly good value considering the quality of the whole experience. The portions are smaller, but there's quite a few of them, and this is all about flavour rather than size. We were comfortably full at the end of the meal.
All the seafood was clearly very fresh, from the bright tangy Coffin Bay oysters through to probably the best Barramundi I've had anywhere. The menu consisted of oysters, cured tuna and salmon with amazing house made wasabi which packed a great sting, delicious Alaskan scallops and aforementioned Barra with crispy skin and incredible delicate, creamy texture. Since I'm allergic to prawns, alas, the chef skipped the Bouillabaisse and conjured up the finest piece of grilled Atlantic salmon - I don't normally care for cooked salmon but this was close to being the star of the show, delicate flavour, and just cooked to perfection with a nice little array of sides to complement the flavours.
We had huge smiles on our faces with every course, the food was so well presented, perfectly timed and everything just so impressive. Somebody is obviously working very hard behind the scenes to purchase such high-grade ingredients, and hats off to the kitchen team, it's been a while since I was so impressed with this level of cooking.
I have to admit - with the Surfers location I was tempted to think "tourist trap" and did not expect too much, but in reality this is the best seafood I've had, not just on the Gold Coast, but anywhere in recent times. Book ahead as they were quite busy with people who are evidently in the know, but highly recommend Seascape for a special occasion or just a fantastic seafood experience with very reasonable prices for this level of quality.
Entry to the restaurant was initially a bit tricky but look for the escalators in the arcade beneath the adjacent...
