Peppers Soul Surfers Paradise is one of the Gold Coast’s most iconic luxury high-rise stays — combining the comfort of full-sized apartments with 5-star hotel amenities, all in an unbeatable beachfront location. It's a favorite among families, couples, and groups looking for space, views, and easy access to the best of Surfers Paradise. 🌊 The Highlights Unbeatable Location You are literally across the road from the beach and right in the middle of Surfers Paradise — seconds from restaurants, cafés, markets, nightlife, and attractions. Whether you’re strolling the Esplanade or grabbing gelato, everything is right at your doorstep. Breathtaking Views Almost every apartment comes with floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies that open up to sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. The higher floors are especially impressive, giving a panoramic view that’s hard to match anywhere else on the Gold Coast. Spacious, Well-Equipped Apartments The apartments — from one to three bedrooms — are roomy, modern, and equipped with full kitchens, laundry facilities, separate living areas, and luxurious bathrooms. Ideal for longer stays or families needing space to spread out and self-cater. Great Amenities Facilities include both indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, sauna, gym, BBQ areas, and even a small garden terrace. There’s also secure parking and a well-maintained lobby with helpful 24-hour staff. Stylish Design & Comfort The interiors are chic and modern with subtle luxury. Many guests mention that the décor feels more sophisticated than typical high-rise apartments, and the furnishings strike a nice balance between style and functionality. ⚠️ Things to Consider Inconsistent Maintenance While many rooms are immaculate, some guests have reported small issues like worn furniture, musty smells, loose fixtures, or appliances needing attention. The quality can vary between apartments, especially since not all are updated equally. Housekeeping Varies This is more of an apartment-style hotel, so daily full housekeeping isn’t always standard unless requested. Some guests expected more frequent room refreshes, so it’s worth clarifying when you book. Price Point This is a premium property, and the pricing reflects that — especially during holidays or school breaks. You’re paying for the location, space, and views. For many, it’s worth every dollar, but expectations should be set accordingly. Lift Wait Times Given the size of the building (77 floors), during peak times, elevator wait times can be frustrating. A small inconvenience, but one that’s been mentioned enough to note. Smoking on Balconies While the property is largely non-smoking, some guests have noted smoke drifting from nearby balconies. If you’re sensitive to this, it’s something to be aware of. ✅ Ideal For: Families who want space, a kitchen, and beach access Couples looking for a romantic, luxury beachside escape Groups wanting upscale apartment living with hotel amenities Visitors who want to be in the absolute heart of the Gold Coast action ❌ Might Not Be Right For: Budget travelers looking for affordable stays People expecting perfect 5-star polish in every corner Guests who prefer smaller, boutique-style hotels Travelers who dislike high-rise buildings or busy tourist zones 🎯 Final Verdict Peppers Soul remains one of the most impressive and well-located luxury options in Surfers Paradise. Its spacious apartments, jaw-dropping views, and prime beachfront setting make it a standout — particularly for those who want a little more comfort and independence than a traditional hotel. While there are occasional hiccups in maintenance or service, most guests leave happy, relaxed, and already planning their return. If you're looking for a place that blends luxury, space, and location into one of the Gold Coast’s best...
Read moreWe were a couple on a four-night stay at Peppers Soul. I had politely asked reception on three separate occasions could I please extend checkout on the Sunday to 1130 am. On the third occasion, I finally had someone, begrudgingly (and that was the attitude) extend the checkout from 10am to 11am. I have to say that I found this whole process a little hard to swallow given the top end of town room pricing, length of stay; being an Accor Plus Club member; while also extensively utilising the hotel bars and restaurants. Check-in time is 2pm, so the ask of a 90 minute checkout extension didn't seem unreasonable given it would still allow the hotel 2.5 hours to service the room.
There is a second issue which can only be described as deceitful. When we booked the hotel directly with Accor 6 months before arriving, there was no mention of any renovations, nor anything on their website. A few days before we were due to arrive at the hotel we received an email advising us that there were renovations taking place. Our flights were already locked in and so was our leave from work. What were we supposed to do? Cancel everything and try to find something else last minute? Based on past experience, I WOULD NEVER BOOK ANY HOTEL UNDERTAKING RENOVATIONS. This is meant to be a top end hotel under a so called quality brand. Guests should have been advised well before a few days before their arrival date, or even more appropriately, at the time of reservation given this would undoubtably have been known by the hotel to be period where renovations were taking place given so many floors being out of action.
The renovations result in certain lifts being blocked off to guests, but that didn't stop tradespeople and the hotel cleaning staff still using any lift they could get into given the impact of having lifts out of action (far worse on weekdays, but also noticeable on the weekends). We were on the 38th floor (about the half way mark). The resulting lift wait time for guests is outrageous and soon becomes the angry joke between guests packed in like sardines.
My trust in the Accor/Peppers is gone. Errors happen, miscommunications occur, and hotels need to renovate. I get it. What I can't accept is the calculated concealment from your guests until the last minute where the guest can't really pull out. As someone who travels a lot, I know the brand you used to be would have used a moment like this to empower your staff to show some random acts of kindness where they can. Maybe a free drink at dinner if someone is dinning in house, perhaps a late checkout....whatever. You are not showing your guests any respect. That's an epic fail in my view. In summary, staying with you was a one-way transaction that was entirely on your terms. Nothing warm nor pleasantly memorable about that, to the contrary.
Great location, great view, but the great stops there. It delivers a somewhat sterile experience and falls short of what should be delivered in this...
Read moreOur experience was terrible. Booked two king beds, arrived to one king bed and two singles which doesn't suit our sleeping arrangements. Called reception to advise and the Assistant Manager told me it was not possible for me to have booked that and where did I book it. I advised on the Accor website and he said, not possible as it doesn't match our room plan. He advised all house keeping staff had gone home and couldn't change to the morning. I found the booking which proved I did book two king beds, rang reception and advised I would be complaining to the manager as not only was the room wrong but I was also accused of not booking the right thing. Suddenly there was some one available to change the beds and a free breakfast given (which was appreciated) - with the advice that next time I should ring a few days in advance to confirm the room layout (who knows why when I booked it the right way).
Then tried to order a glass of wine, QR code not working. Ring room service. Advises me they are busy and it will be a long wait. It was. 1.5 hours. Later in the week on a Monday, tried to order room service, they aren't open as apparently people don't want to eat or drink on a Monday.
The room was filthy. One of the bed headboards had dirt all over them from people's hands, heads, spilt drinks. It was disgusting, I couldn't sleep in there. Marks over all the walls. Dust over everything. Rugs and couches stained. Everything old and worn. Dirt around bathroom vanity. Dead bugs on balcony. Throughout the stay it was a guessing game whether we would get a refill of soap, toilet paper - we did get toilet paper, we didn't get any soap for the stay.
Couldn't connect to TV and we had other people trying to connect to ours. Watching TV and then someones AirPlay/YouTube/Netflix was trying to be connected. This happened the whole stay - 7 days.
Went for our free breakfast in the Hyde. Huge wait to get in. We were seated before two large groups of 8-10. The waiter goes and takes their orders before ours. There was a lady working there (she appeared to be in charge, tall elegant lady - sorry I didn't get her name) and we spoke to her and she looked after us and we got our food very quickly - she made this the best experience with the hotel.
Went to the indoor and outdoor pools. In need of an upgrade. Again, filthy. No one checking on others behaviors either. There was a group of young kids using the chairs as slides to bomb into the pool, screaming and being a nuisance. Another group playing ball games in the indoor pool, nearly hitting an older gentleman a number of times.
Upon check out I was waiting to be asked how my stay was. I wasn't. I figure they probably don't want to ask people anymore if they are having similar experience to ours.
The best thing about the hotel was the view - it's stunning. But I would never stay here again, and will actively tell people to spend their money elsewhere - this is absolutely not a...
