Kathmandu Momo House & Bar – A Real Taste of Kathmandu,Nepal, With Heart ❤️!
We recently visited Kathmandu Momo House & Bar and walked away absolutely delighted. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Our server, the lovely Samjhana, made the experience even more special. Not only was she absolutely gorgeous, but her cheerful energy and attentive service really stood out. The entire team looked genuinely happy to be there, and the service was top-notch throughout.
The manager was just as friendly and approachable. He made sure we were comfortable and checked in on us with a smile. It’s rare to see such hands-on and happy staff in a busy restaurant. It set the tone for an excellent evening.
Now let’s talk about the food – wow. The momo were, of course, incredible – juicy, flavourful, and clearly made with care. But the real showstopper? The Dhido set. Huge portion, perfectly balanced flavours, and that gundruk and bhatmas ko jhol absolutely blew our minds. We’re still talking about it. It was earthy, spicy, tangy – just like home, but better. The quality was so good, we couldn’t leave anything behind – we had to take the leftovers. Who throws away food this good? Definitely not us!
The bar itself is massive and stocked with a wide range of drinks. From Nepalese spirits to the usual favourites, there’s something for everyone. We found the prices very reasonable too – great value for both food and drinks.
Location-wise, it’s perfect – easy to get to and nicely set up for groups or casual meals. The food came out fast and hot, which was a big bonus.
Overall, Kathmandu Momo House & Bar left us feeling happy, full, and excited to come back. With their outstanding staff, delicious traditional food, and great vibe, it’s a gem in the heart of town. Highly recommended! Ps: Live stage was bonus.. love...

We came to Gold Coast for a short holiday and after three days, we really started missing authentic Nepali food—especially a comforting plate of daal bhaat. That’s when we discovered Kathmandu Momo House and Bar, and it truly made our trip better!
We ordered one portion of daal bhaat with chicken curry (since both my wife and I don’t eat much rice), along with some sausage and takeaway buff sadeko. As most Nepalis know, many restaurants allow a little extra daal and rice and sometimes curry aswell if needed. Even though we shared one portion, we didn’t want to be unfair to the restaurant, so when we asked for more daal and rice, I offered to pay for it as an add-on. To our surprise, when we went to pay, they hadn’t charged us anything extra—such a kind gesture!
The next day, I noticed they sell frozen momos, which was perfect for us since food around Surfers Paradise can be quite expensive. I ordered 3 portions and called them to ask if I could add something small so they can replace with that to aachar with it. I was happy to pay for it, but they said not to worry—they’d include some. When the order arrived via Uber Eats, they had included two kinds of aachar in generous portions!
It honestly felt like they weren’t just running a business—they were taking care of us like family. The food was delicious, authentic, and comforting. The hospitality was above and beyond.
Huge thanks to the team at Kathmandu Momo House and Bar—you made our holiday extra special. Keep up the...
Read moreTucked away in the heart of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, Kathmandu Momo offers a casual yet authentic taste of Nepali cuisine. Its convenient location makes it an ideal spot for both locals and tourists looking to experience the traditional flavours of Nepal.
During our visit, we sampled a variety of popular dishes including Momos (Nepali-style dumplings), chow mein, sadheko bhatmas (spiced crunchy soybeans), and naan bread. While the food was enjoyable, we found the quality, taste, and presentation to be moderate—certainly satisfactory, though there is room for improvement in terms of visual appeal and flavour depth.
What truly stood out, however, was the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. It’s a great spot for families and groups looking to enjoy a laid-back dining experience. The environment felt inviting and culturally rich without being overly formal.
A special thanks goes to Samjhana, our waitress, whose service was exceptional. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after throughout our meal. Her warm hospitality added a personal touch to our experience and reflected the generous spirit of Nepali culture.
Despite some room for refinement in the kitchen, Kathmandu Momo is a commendable destination for anyone craving an authentic Nepali meal in a comfortable and friendly setting. We gladly recommend it to anyone eager to explore Nepal’s culinary delights right here in...
