Mediocre Chinese/Australian at inflated prices. Rude service as well. Ordered takeaway spring rolls (2 varieties), fried rice (house specialty) and a few dishes gluten free (for the coeliac in the family to share), San Choy Bow (Chicken), Garlic Prawns and Sweet & Sour Chicken, which they could do GF apparently, and which I asked for GF. It was difficult to place the order as the person I spoke to had poor English and appeared distracted, as if they were in the midst of doing ten things at once. I had to ask a few questions about dishes as I'm a coeliac and gluten is bad news for me. I confirmed the dishes I ordered, repeating to clarify they understood the GF dishes I'd ordered. I arrived to pickup the order and the two staff at the counter didn't respond to my presence until I greeted them in Mandarin Chinese. The GF sweet and sour chicken I'd ordered was not GF. The person who I dealt with (same person on the phone) insisted I had not clarified GF for the sweet & sour chicken, essentially imputing I either lied or imagined repeating to him that I wanted that dish GF, along with the San Choy Bow and Garlic Prawns. Very rude person, not who you want running front of house. I didn't take the gluten chicken and it was subtracted from the total, with poor grace on the part of the manager who was very rude and defensive. I don't normally post long diatribes but this place p**d me off due to the managers attitude. And for the price, the food was very ordinary. I recommend...
Read moreWould give -1 stars if I could!!! Was beyond shocked at the service we received!! Went here for a family dinner for my mum's birthday. She specifically requested yum cha. Asked for a nice table near the window in advance. When we arrived were given a cold dark table near the back corner where all the baby seats were outside of the main area of the restaurant. We put this aside and proceeded to order. When we were only served the a la carte menu, I went to go ask for the yum cha menu. The manager responded by yelling at me in front of everyone at the restaurant saying.. "We dont do yum cha at night!!!!!" I responses with... "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see it on the website" (my mistake), to which he then yelled at me again saying,... "Yeah, well I am telling you now!!! We dont do yum cha at night!".... humiliating me in front of my family as i was the one to organise the night out and yelling at me in front of the restaurant. My family and I were utterly shocked! And lefy without a word. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Be being someone who works in hospitality, I would have been fired on the spot had I treated a customer with this much disrespect. Never never ever come here. Donr support this place with your money, there are so many better yum cha places in the gold coast with stars they actually deserve. Not deserving of a...
Read moreMy fiancé Booked a table here for NYE and the service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. We were seated on the balcony down in the corner where there were cigarette butts and ash on the ground. Waiter explained we could order 2 mains from the banquet, excluding one of the options. Waited about 15minutes before having to ask for drinks. My fiancé ordered a sparkling moscato, and was brought a white wine. Once entrees started coming out, there was no dipping sauce offered (we had dumplings). One of the mains came before all of the entrees had finished. Waited roughly 10 minutes before the other main and rice came out. The vegetables that were included never came out. All the while we were never asked again if we wanted another drink, after I’d finished my beer during the 1st main. Then the dessert was never offered that was on the menu (mango pudding), instead a sundae. I finally had a word to the manager and told him I wasn’t happy with the lack of service, to which he offered either 10% off our bill or something to take away. No apology was given for the terrible service. And we didn’t even receive our entire banquet, so the 10% off didn’t account for much. Will never return or...
