Great friendly vibe with its patrons, the service is speedy and this Parma was the best I have had in a long time. So, lets break it down

Atmosphere: ** It’s a nice venue but the décor is a little claustrophobic and while they do have a split sports bar and bistro area, its not a nice gradual flow from one section to the other. It’s very two tone. However, the people and general energy of this place is one of good mates, a fun punt or a family dinner. Everyone was lively, happy, and comfortable.

Customer Service: ** Customer Service felt a little loose by way of, everyone was nice but seemed a little uncaring – could be due to knowing the job so well. However, the ordering system was by QR code, and the timing and efficiency of the staff was exceptional. We weren’t asked after our food, but the plates were cleared promptly when finished, Well Done

Food: * Chicken Parmigiana with Chips and Salad $23 This must be one of the best parmas I have ever had. The chicken was thick, tender and juicy; it wasn’t overly crumbed to make it bigger and had a great crunch. The Napoli sauce was excellent, and the ham was sweet plus the cheese was perfectly melty. Plus, the chips were fresh and crispy & the salad was great with nice big pieces and a dressing that was very tasty. Outstanding.

Overall: It’s seeming like a great local place to kick back and watch the footy game with your mates while having a great traditional pub feed. If I was a local here, I bet I would be coming down here once a week. ...

This has been my local pub for quite sometime spending in excess of $5000 per week in the gaming room most weeks with minimum $2000 on an odd week. I had left my vehicle in the car park over night as I had left at 330am the previous morning. I then have come out to a pice of paper to my vehicle taped to it saying it will be towed and my car has been keyed on the same side as the note. I confronted dom the day time manager about this and he laughed and said it wasn't me if you drink here you can't leave your vehicle here. I told him I'd have a problem with him for vandalising my car and he had stated don't return to the venue. This is all on CCTV at the counter. ALH pubs have now lost a returning customer that spends quite a fair bit at this venue.

Please note the manager dom had also been acting aggressively towards me pointing in my face while asking him what he had done to my vehicle. Will be going through insurance now thanks.

Also please note previously I have been told by other staff members I can park over night in the car park as I am there a lot of nights during the week.

In response to the pubs reply I have a photo of the taped message to my vehicle with anglers arms logo attached to it. As stated this is now with insurance and there is cameras pointed towards where my vehicle was parked. Anglers statement of the manager not attaching it to my vehicle is false and untrue I will attach photos of my above statements later in...

Yeah nah…. It’s a Tavern. I have eaten there before with a group of women and the food was quite good. Today I ordered a $25 chicken schnitzel….. what a mistake. Processed chicken meat in a strange slab shape….obviously pulled off a frozen pack. “Steggles” from the supermarket would’ve been around the same quality….maybe better. A few chips… pretty good ones and a salad with an overly seasoned dressing. Usual greens and the two obligatory pieces of tomato. They’re making a tidy profit. The sweet girl asked me if I enjoyed my food. Had to tell her it was the worst chicken schnitzel I’ve ever eaten, and why. Not your fault lady. Is it too much to expect a freshly breaded and fried piece of chicken breast as a schnitzel in this day and age… especially for $25? This is the Anglers Arms next to Dan Murphys in Queen Street, Southport.

In reply to the owner’s last comment, my review WAS of your establishment. The only thing I corrected was the price of the chicken schnitzel which was three or four dollars less than the chicken parmigiana. My mistake. Pleased I didn’t order the latter because the chicken schnitzel base would’ve been the same for greater cost. I did inform your pleasant waitstaff. I didn’t expect any substitution. Would it have been a different preparation? I doubt it. Change to another meal and wait while my partner is halfway through his? Not desirable. Shouldn’t have been disappointing in the...

I sat down knowing exactly what I wanted for dinner. I waited for the staff to come snd take my order. After no communication for 20 mins I flagged the staff down and asked what to do to order. They said you need to go to the counter to order. I could have been told that much earlier. As I was finishing my last mouthful before I’d even been able to use my napkin my plate was removed. I wish the order service was that quick. The service was very disappointing. I ordered a Parmi. The salad was spot on. The chips were very nice. The Parmi was a little burnt on the bottom. But that made the cheese on top cook perfectly. It tasted very nice. I recommend ordering the Parmi as a safe go to meal. I rate the food, but not the service.

Cool place to be at. I usually come here to hang out with my mates. Impeccable service always. Zac ‘Orlando’ Ralph, Byron, Shayla and Tyler are a few gems in the staff who always take care of you and are very hospitable. They put up a game for us during world cup and are always generous with recommendations on drinks. Zac made me a super nice Japanese slipper. Love coming here.
