TL;DR Great access, great food, but you may not get everything you expect if you expected a “restaurant”.
First of all, the seats were right outside the building, shielded with tarp, and warmed with several heaters, so if you want a place completely surrounded by walls, this isn't for you. Unless your idea of a good view happens to include “a ground level view across a street from a tram station”, it doesn't have a good view either. So consider this a food stand instead of a full-blown restaurant.
However, this also means that access from the tram is excellent; just walk across the street and you're there! This is great news for people who go out to visit places via tram, since dropping off at any tram station and back in within an hour incurs no additional charge.
The food here is excellent, and it has everything you expect of a pizza. The menu is a bit wordy and hard to read, but you'll likely be able to find something to your tastes. If you want, you could ask...
Read moreI don't do do restaurant reviews but I'm compelled to write this one as a warning. I've bought the same takeaway pizza (capriciossa with extra cheese) several times after a long day's work. Always satisfying. This time the pizza base was dry like cardboard & made worse with little tomato base and barely any cheese. There was no extra cheese as I ordered. I always have the same pizza and this one was horrible and I threw half of it out. It angers me that one just wants a simple meal after working all day and you pay for unedible garbage. I suspect ownership has changed because when I picked up the pizza I didn't recognise any staff and I thought I had walked into an Indian restaurant. The place has an attractive facade of a little Italian Trattoria but really they should change the name from Roma Pizzeria to something like Calcutta Kitchen. If they butcher a simple pizza you can imagine what their pasta is...
Read moreI'm staying at the Seaworld Resort. I called Roma then: "It's a very busy night and the delivery should take about 45min". A couple of this to note here: 1. They are busy, people must like them; 2. He's concerned about my expectation and was honest upfront; 3. I talked to 2 guys, both with thick (Italian?) accent. I'm sold. The food arrives delivered by a smiley huge fella,. I take it to the room and MAN, the pasta was amazing, really fresh and the prawns were perfect. I started my night with a $150 (2 people) packed buffet option (nah) but went for 2 pastas and a herb pizza for less than $50, and it was some of the best Italian food I had in Australia. Do you know the typical plastic containers for takeaway? The pasta came in a large one of those, tucked with food that I could have easily shared one (plus herb bread) with my wife. Yep, go ahead...
