Lot 1 Coffee — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

This is one of my favourite coffee places, as their coffee tastes great. I've never had bad experiences here until this afternoon. A lady at the cashier around 1 p.m. had a problem with her behaviour.

Even though I was obviously at the front of her at the cashier counter, she never looked at me and never did greet me.

If staff are busy, I totally understand, and mostly the staff usually say something like wait a moment to let customers know that staff are recognising customers presence and still caring for them.

However, this lady didn't talk to me and didn't even look at me for a long time. She was doing her own thing at the cashier by facing down to the counter, although she knew I was in front of her.

She eventually took my order, but she didn't express any appreciation for my patience. She was behaving like there was no problem existing.

After she made a coffee for me, she called my name and just put my coffee down on the counter. The cup was dirty and she didn't say anything, such as thank you or have a good one! etc.., and didn't make eye contact with me. I wasn't treated well.

I'm regularly coming here to grab a coffee as their coffee is lovely, and some of the staff who I've communicated with before were nice and friendly. So, I'm quite disappointed today.

I don't think her attitude is appropriate for customer service. I hope her professionalism will...

By far the best breakfast I've ever had. My friend and I were peckish and had an hour till check out. We pop into what looks like an average cafe hole in the wall. Seat ourselves. Browse the menu then order at the counter. We expected a wait time in consideration of the number of people seated. However in less than 5 minutes my apple juice was delivered. Fresh crushed green apple zero pulp. My food promptly arrived in under 10 minutes thereafter. The best sourdough avocado toast I've ever had. Light buttery with just the right amount of crunch. Ample fresh avocado. Perfect poached eggs (hot, you could tell the were plated and immediately delivered to table). Firm whites runny yolks. A side salad with a fluorescent dressing. A wonderful surprise flavour I will never forget. Even the self serve water was elevated. 3 pumps on a machine, chilled, ambient and sparkling. Please don't ever glam up and renovate which would inflate these affordable prices. Truly a delightful rustic brunch spot I am sure to revisit next time...

They messed up my coffee order and used regular milk instead of oat milk. When I went to let them know, the waitress was rude and responded with, “What do you want me to do?”—no apology whatsoever. I explained that I needed the coffee remade with oat milk so I could actually drink it, and although they did change it, it was done begrudgingly.

On top of that, I’m pregnant, and my husband forgot to request my eggs well done (I know, his mistake). We realized it before the food came out and quickly informed the staff, but they said it was too late because the food was “about to come out.” Yet we waited over five more minutes before anything arrived—plenty of time for the kitchen to be notified. It seemed like the waiter simply couldn’t be bothered.

Overall, horrible...
