We have been coming here for years and the food and staff are always great but today was a big disappointment. Sat down ready for a nice lunch We always have the Barra chips and salad ...when it came in a box. Just the fish and chips no salad.I took it for granted that we would have it on a plate like we usually do . We ate it it was nice but when id finished and went to order coffee i asked the young girl 'dont you serve it on a plate anymore" she said i should have asked.. Don't you think She should ask.' is it eat in or take away"? I think your price of $36 for basic fish and chips is pretty steep with no salad offered and no plates.seems we paid for a salad we never got too! went to ask for 2 coffees which she put in two paper cups. I said i wanted it in a proper cup as we were "dining in" which she did remake in real cups but all of this could have been avoided had she asked . TAKE AWAY OR EAT IN? How easy is that? Different day different staff different service. I never complain but this bugged the heck out of me today as we were so looking forward to dining there. Be nice if they ALL...

UPDATE: Thank you Martin for your response. I am hoping it was not an automated response as I am not sure how can someone disagree with my claims and/or denied what has happened when you don't have any details such as date, time etc. Anyways, it appears you are not willing to listen what your customers have to say so you are clearly in the wrong industry if customers don't matter. I will make sure not to recommend this place to my guests anymore. P.s. while checking the footage might be worth to see how/if your staff were wearing masks over the last couple of months. Best of luck!!

Rude staff and disgusting customer service. While waiting for my takeaway order i was closely observing the attitude of a staff member (Michelle - supervisor??) terribly treating the customers. Why would you employ someone if they obviously are just ruining your business?! WOULD NEVER...

As locals we won't be coming here again and this may be my first negative review Ive ever written about any restaurant. We ordered a avo on toaat and a bacon egg muffin for $25 ! One piece of toast with avocado was $16 ( which was supposed to cone with egg but we asked to not include it because of allergies). We thought becuase we asked for no egg they'd at least attempt to make it worth $16 but that wasn't the case. When we went to grab our order and saw what we were getting for $25 we couldn't believe it. We said something to the lady at the cash register and she just looked at us blank and said sorry. Still can't believe we walked away paying $25 for something worth $14 max. Very disappointed and the customer service was just as poor. Won't recommend anyone to come...

Recently visited the Main Beach Pavilion cafe, and I must say, it left me with a rather average impression. The culinary experience was not quite up to the mark, as the food lacked the flavors I was hoping for. We ordered Avo on toast, scrambled eggs, and French toast – sadly, all of them seemed to be missing the right seasoning, making them a tad tasteless. The bread's texture was tougher than expected, which was quite surprising. On the brighter side, the coffee was decent, but I've certainly had better. It's important to note that while the visit wasn't stellar, the team's efforts are appreciated. Everyone has their off days, and I believe the cafe has potential. Wishing them all the best in fine-tuning their offerings.

Right on the beach. The perfect place to visit. After a morning of exercise. Or even to feel up before hand Whether you walk/jog, swim or ride. Before or After any exercise drop in to the friendly cafe and grab yourself a coffee to perk yourself you or maybe a tasty breakfast after a bit of exercise. Whether you choose a light healthy breakfast or a big breakfast. Main beach Pavilion has got you covered. Prices here are very reasonable. The food is fresh. Nd tasty. Generous portion sizes and a great social atmosphere to sit around with the family of friends.

This is a glorious place to sit for a weekday morning breakfast overlooking the Coral Sea. Busy vehicle parking area adjacent, accessed off Main Beach Parade, plus pedestrian/ bikeway and beach access. Very efficient and friendly service: order, take your seat, and wait to be called. Choice of indoor seating but on a GC morning hard to beat outside overlooking Main Beach. Not sure about the heritage status of the pavilion but definitely has Old Skol GC feel, plus Norfolk Island Pines.
