Attended the kids Halloween event, I can see why adults were forced to purchase meal vouchers because the food was terrible! I don't think the kids ticket was even worth $30 because so many places did the same thing apart from the kids meals for free but anyway, skipped out on the event at home in Sanctuary cove because I thought since this was paid for it would be nicer but it was the same thing the other places were doing just cost money. It was advertised as there would be games but there was no games - I guess they considered dancing as a game? Advertised as "tons of lollies" - it was a little bag with 7 pieces of lollies and open lollies too - which no one should give open sweets to kids at public events. Anyway, I ordered the crab spaghetti, took ONE bite left my plate as pictured as the DJ came to tell the tables it was best dance so we went to the dance floor with our son, the waitress said we can't leave our table and we needed to pay now if we wanted to stay with our child on the dancefloor so okay we went to pay, went back to our table and it was cleared. My entire plate of spaghetti as pictured here below, and she of course charged us already. Thats stealing to take money and not provide the meal- even though it tasted like a mouthful of lemon rind with no other flavor - she could have said she was clearing the table or asked If I wanted my food or wanted to take it home or something instead of taking my entire meal and making me pay for it. When I complained about the food the waitress didn't care. And to top it off the lady at the front kept yelling at me to get away from the door even though our car my husband brought around cause of the rain was right there!! Bad experience here and will not recommend or visit again.

Honestly, I was disappoined with my food. Venue looks quite nice inside but my prawn salad had 4 prawns, heaps of leaves, strange sauce and several burnt tasteless macadamias. Prawns felt like undercooked. Sauce felt like something very cheap from Aldi. Macadamias were obviously defective. And on a whole it was not like finished dish but something different just thrown on plate. And this is for 31 dollars. Seriously? It is extremely expensive for this quality. Maximum 10 dollars. Not more. Who is their chief cook? He is very untalanted. My bruscheta was also quite sad. It was sooo tiny, it was falling into pieces and not comfortable to eat. All tomatoes, onion were falling down from it. They were not fixed at all on bread. I mean it isn't high cuisine. It is a joke. It is seriously very sad that they make so simple in cooking dishes so tasteless and portions are tiny. When prices are high. I can go to fish and chips where they will make same very simple dishes as this venue serves and get muuuuch better value for this price. And this is restaurant? Or what? Honestly, wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Do they taste by themselves what they cook? Not tasty. Not impresive.

A bit of a tough one to review. We visited on the Australia Day public holiday for dinner. We came for the Thursday special Barramundi. Instead of a discounted fish dish we paid full price because they aren’t available on the public holiday PLUS a 15% holiday surcharge. None of this is unreasonable but all together it made the meal one of the most expensive meals I’ve ever paid for. So, what did we eat? The pork belly and calamari entrees were in on point, the marinara pasta was excellent, the barramundi was ok, the lamb burger (Australia Day special) was disappointing. The beer was cold and crisp. The service was excellent. All up a good meal that was off the charts expensive. If you are a member and visiting on a normal day, I suspect your experience will be better.

The views: 5 stars. The food when it comes right: 5 stars (last night my friend I and ordered the same salad, hers 6-7 pieces of salmon, mine 2 :0(....Never mind, they looked busy, I said nothing. Things happens. Now... the staff: Last time we had a a problem with a booking. Last night , I was disappointed with 3 things, but I will mention just one, the most unacceptable one, which is rudeness, and left me with an uncomfortable experience for a while. Definitely I do not expect an smile on a busy Saturday night, maybe I can go with my 2 pieces lf salmon, but certainly not with rudeness. Some staff should seriously start thinking of changing a career, hospitality is not for everyone. The story as short as I can: After being sent inside from the "lawn" area to order cocktails inside, (the nice guy outside did not have a "cocktail shaker") My 2 friends and I approached the bar inside as told. We ordered the drinks with a male, he told us that the "special cocktail offer" was only to be ordered at the" lawn " (where we were just were sent from). We explained that no shaker was there so he agreed to service us and asked a female collegue to help us. We ordered the same exact 3 drinks to keep it easy. The female staff on the bar asked my friend if she wanted cordial added. She said "yes". My other friend and myself tailed along with "no cordial for us please". With a very not happy face, and her look in the eyes, she told me: "I am not talking to you, I am talking to her", referring to my friend (maybe I should have been waited to be officially directed the question to me, but thought to give her the info in case she would prepare all together). No second interpretations, straight rude look and words. The place is lovely though, they just need more of the...

We’ve been looking for a venue to have our wedding and came across the Southport Yacht Club, my mum, fiancé and myself arranged to meet with Julie and have a look at the venue. She was so lovely and took us up to the function room and went over everything with us, she was so friendly and took her time to go over anything we had questions about, was such a lovely and exciting experience and can’t thank Julie enough :)

We then had dinner at the club and everyone there was wonderful, it was a miserable day and was pouring down, yet the club was so cosy and it was so nice sitting out on the covered deck area with a bottle of bubbles and some snacks, we sat here for a little as we were a bit early for dinner, and the atmosphere was so lovely, very relaxed and cruisey yet such a lovely fancy vibe as well, the atmosphere was wonderful and we had such a great time.

We then went and sat in the restaurant area and had dinner a little later, the service and staff were all absolutely wonderful, they were happy to answer any questions and were so polite and friendly the whole night, the bar staff were also lovely and the kitchen must be too as the food was incredible!!! And such a great range on the menu as well and lovely desert too, the food was speedy and of the highest quality :)

On the way in and out we also spoke to the lady at the front desk who was also so lovely and polite as well, she made us feel very welcome and set the whole friendly atmosphere from the get go right up until leaving!

We spent the way home raving about how wonderful our experience was and we will absolutely be back :) Thank you so much to every single person in the SYC crew for making it such a lovely experience and for going above and beyond, cannot recommend this place...
