Nectar Espresso — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I’m really disappointed with the rude service at this café. There was no line, and my coffee came quickly, but my small cappuccino had no froth or chocolate just like my basic shitty homemade coffee. If I’m paying over $5, I expect it to be made correctly.

It took them three tries to get it right, and the staff showed zero customer service. One of them rudely called out, "Oi, your coffee is ready," with no apology or politeness. No smile, no courtesy just attitude. To top it off, when I walked away, she laughed with her coworkers about it, which made me feel disrespected and singled out.

If they can be friendly and flirty with male customers, why not show basic respect to everyone? The only good staff member there is Cody if everyone were like her, the café would be much better.

Service here is always hit or miss, but lately, it’s been all misses. Until they train their staff on proper hospitality, I can’t recommend this place.

Atmosphere is 5/5 because it's outside in the open...

The fact that they can make the atmosphere terrible when it's open out door beach place is disappointing. The girls working there obviously hate what they do and really show they are there for a pay check only. I have seen rude customer service but this is everything wrong to do as a hospitality worker, Nectar Cafe why and how do you allow this? Just horrible nature. Not sure how they hire staff here but the worst on the gold coast is here. I feel so upset that coming to get coffee in the morning and leaving feeling just absolutely crap. Will never come back, wish the owner was there so they can see how customers are getting treated. I think they only reason they have customers is because it's on the beach and people walk past. It's not for regulars to keep coming back every day,...

Good food, terrible drinks....

We ordered 2 iced chocolates and 1 bacon and egg burger. The burger was great but sadly the drinks were beyond disappointing. The "iced chocolate" was legit just milk and ice. When I went to the window to ask for more chocolate sauce I was told they make it with a powered chocolate mixed with hot water and was told this is how they make it and if I wanted more to let them know... I took it back to the table mixed it in and it wasn't any better. I'm so disappointed, I hardly ever have iced drinks and I ended up just tipping it out. It was also over priced. Maybe learn how to make standardise hospitality drinks and you'll get repeat customers.
