This little hole in the wall sells outrageously expensive Chinese steamed and baked āChar siu baoā pork buns and other less than delectable looking baked items. The cashier is notoriously rude and only accepts cash. Never ask for āa bakerās dozenā or a discount for quantity purchases. They donāt provide gift cards and could seemingly care less if you ever returned to their little bakery for a second visit. The place looks rather old and grimy and could definitely use a good clean. I donāt like to think about what lurks behind the door to the kitchen. I think they survive economically by the vast tourist activity in that area. I wouldnāt recommend...

Super friendly, delicious everything, but when we arrived in 2012 and banh mis were scarce, the Oriental Bakery was our saviour! Many banh mis have come and gone in the meantime on the GC and Brisbane, but these are by far the closest to banh mis that you find in the bigger cities (for me, it was the closest I could find to the old Eating St Food Court in Haymarket or Hunter Connection, if this helps). The BBQ pork pastry is also crazy delicious though!
