as i approached this establishment i entered, broken, tired as i had previously embarked on a 2 hour journey. the apple and blueberry turnovers had caught my wandering eye, something came over me, a moment i had to remember, i took a snapshot so i could relish in the feeling forevermore. as i was ordering my delicacy, i was greeted by a lovely motherly woman who had brought a sense of serenity over me. for what felt like a nickel and a penny, i march to my vehicle unaware of the ethereal experience that was to over come me. “im saving it for later” i state to my dear friends who were instantly captured by the mere sight of my apple and blueberry turnover. as i continue my journey i feel as though i am getting watched, but in these circumstances i am the watcher. i feel myself like a rope pulling me closer and closer, i just cant help myself, ive waited too long. as i reach for the delicacy, i get overthrown with joy. i bite into it and all i know is that apple and blueberry turnover. i have finally found it, my one true love, the minutes that ensued was a constant barrage of compliments, moans of pleasure, my dear friends couldn’t believe that this sort of reaction couldn’t possibly be elicited by a simple pastry. but what they were unaware of and about to understand, it was like no other simple pastry. i pass it through the group demanding they only have one bite as i wanted them to understand but i did not want to share. tears were brought to their eyes as the mouth watering feeling of sweet cream, smooth pastry and the perfect fruit mixture tumbled around on their taste buds. it was like a ritual. it was angelic. it was the one thing we all needed in our lives. this location and product quality is widely recommended amongst my dearest friends, we will...

Went to purchase a loaf of bread prior going to work. Pointed to a loaf and said can I have that one sliced please. The girl was a smart arse who tries to keep giving me one in a bag already sliced. I said no I would like that one please as I don't like them already bagged and would like that one as looked crunchy top. Long story short she insisted that she would not slice that one incase someone wanted it unsliced...what the.!! After going back and forth with the smart arse I bought the bread unsliced... According to this staff member Kirra Bakery doesn't slice unsliced bread because someone might want it unsliced..hello I am paying for the bread.!!! BTW bread was not nice and pies were sloppy and tasteless. After living and working in Kirra/Coolangatta for 23 years - definately has changed for the worse since it was sold this year. Kirra bakery used to be one of the best around. With chunky steak filled pies and amazing opening times allowing you to get a good feed at 1:00 am made it a legendary spot. Unfortunately the quality of the pies have declined dramatically. I have given this bakery a secon chance 10 times praying that maybe my favourite bakery are just having a bad day but this does not seem the case. Every pie I have gotten has one or two small bits of steak and sometimes absolutely none. I've brought this up with some staff a while ago and they said they've had similar complaints but obviously the owners care more about profit than producing a quality product as nothing has changed. It's honestly heartbreaking to see one of the best turn into the worst. No more second chances. R.I.P the best bakery...
