We live a little way out of Goolwa, and we consider ourselves as local. We frequently walk from the car park opposite the Riverside Cafe to the end of Liverpool Road. Usually keen for a coffee etc. at the end of the walk. Have been to this place quite a few times and not always had a good experience. Decided to go again to give them another chance rather than go to Hectors or Motherduck. However the service was extremely disappointing. Cake delivered to the table quickly but we waited and waited for coffee. Others arrived a little time after us and received their coffees well before us. Had to go and ask where ours were. This is not the first time we have received such poor service at this place. If this is how they treat a local and potential repeat business how do visitors fare I wonder? My vegetarian daughter and son-in-law think the extensive menu options available for them are unbelievable, and my carnivorous bacon-munching and hot dog devouring granddaughters leave nothing on their plates. I’ve tried the burger, the bruschetta and on several occasions, the egg and bacon toasted sandwich with wilted spinach and bbq sauce. 🤤 Coffee is good, with oat milk available for those who prefer it. Went to counter to order from the breakfast/ lunch menu, two staff chatting away without a care in the world and ignoring me, more important stuff to talk about then take my order, anyway 3 or 4 minutes later nose ring girl pops her head out and informs me the kitchen is closed, time check 12.50PM.
