Harvest — Restaurant in Goulburn

Wife and I was driving through Goulburn and decided to try Harvest. My eggs benedict had a good poached egg, just one, with extra salmon as requested. While I expected two eggs this was nothing to which my wife was to experience. She ordered a chicken and pesto fritta, but what she got had many different items not expected such as bacon. Harvest should have had this on the menu item as the bacon was about a quarter of the total size of the meal and she doesn't eat bacon. Unfortunately, the fritter was undercooked and we mentioned this to the wait staff. The batter of the fritter was visible and not cooked through. One of them took it to the kitchen, came back a few minutes later and said that was normal for the dish to have the texture shown. I ordered a bacon and egg roll for breakfast at harvest. What I received had chopped up hard boiled egg in a creamy sauce of some sort. The texture and flavour was terrible and spoiled the roll. I put it down after two bites and pushed it away while I finished my tea.

Staff members walked past and took no notice of a clearly rejected meal.

Harvest are entitled to experiment in whatever way they want, but this dish was misrepresented. It wasn't a traditional "bacon and egg roll". I really liked the atmosphere of this cafe. It had a fresh and slightly rustic vibe. The view into the rose garden and park across the road is lovely. Food was ok, but not great. I had the sweet potato fritters. It was ok, but very dry. The fritters were more like thick pikelets and the halloumi was also cut very thickly. It needed more sauce or something to lighten/ freshen it. The aioli had a nice kick and the avocado was creamy contrast to the salty halloumi, but I wanted more of both!
