First time! The place is not very visible from the street and the lack of car parks are a little frustrating.
As you go in, the flooring is uneven so watch your step as you navigate through. At first, we stood at the register area but weren't greeted by staff. As a first timer here I think first impressions are pretty important. So we waited and waited, finally getting tired of standing there to be directed to a table, I just grabbed a few menus and went looking for one.
They have such a great variety for both Vegan and Omni (meat and veg eaters) alike. The prices are decent, especially for the serving sizes! We ordered a Vegan Baguette, vegan chocolate sundae and vegan waffles, the chicken schnitzel burger with raspberry spider and a bowl of wedges.
The chicken burger was the sexiest thing I have ever seen as terms of presentation; I marvelled at it's sheer size and thought "How am I going to eat something that's the size of my face!"
It was by far the nicest cooked burger I've had in a while, the chicken schnitzel batter was crisp and fresh, topped with egg and avo amongst lettuce, tomato & seasoned just right. I had a side of chips, which was an extra. Slightly dissapointed at the lack of chips, especially for over $3 extra. Just a hand full of chips. Needs more. Or should come standard with a meal on request.
The raspberry spider was lacking in ice cream. Only had a small blob of it and came with a sprite can of drink to pour in.
The wedges tasted great! Well seasoned and freshly made. The sour cream and sweet chilli sauce were a little bland though.
Overall 4/5 for service and quality. Great little spot for a gathering, date or just lunch.
Next time we won't come in on a weekend though, too many people and not enough car spaces outside Handorf's busy street. The place could use better signs outside and better visible flooring for people with sight problems and easier access for disabled people.
Rest rooms are located within premises & they have a few bits and pieces of random things available for sale. Like glittery head bands and other decorative gift ideas. Nothing exciting though.
Decor was alright, a little cramped in the front area and noticed there's no AC. There's seating out front or out the back.
General experience was good. Food delivered quickly and was hot and fresh. Staff are friendly but need to acknowledge guests and ask them if they'd like to be seated when first arrived.
Good menu choices and...
Read moreHubby and I love Herbees! We go there, mainly for a late weekend breaky, quite regularly. The menu options are varied- many different dietary needs are catered for. Plenty of drink options too. Even some healthy fresh made juices/smoothies, various tea's and hot drinks. Although, funnily enough, we tend to order the same yummy food each visit ;-) The food is tasty and well presented. The serving size is large enough - you won't walk away hungry. There's a selection of cakes and some to die for scones! The pricing is very reasonable. Staff are very friendly and attentive enough but not bothersome. They are happy to accommodate small changes. There are various options for seating -with indoor, the verandah or out the back surrounded by garden. There are tables for two and four on the verandah and the other areas could possibly suit small parties of four to eight with some table manipulation. In winter the indoor area is warmed by a fire and the verandah has strip heating. I think Herbees is...
Read moreWe have been here a few times now. The first time we went there we tried a steak sandwich which was really delicious. The homemade honey mustard dressing is yummy and the steak is so tender. We keep going back for more and travel a long distance just to have one. You have to try one of these if you go there! The kids meals are always nice and the kids pizzas are really tasty and seem to be home made. We love to sit out on the front porch on the cosy little lounge set up in the corner and watch the world go by. We love this cute and cosy cottage café. The prices are very reasonable are there are a lot of choices on the menu from light to heavier meals. The only negative is the coffee that I have had in the past that was weak and milky which is exactly how I do not...
