Great place for a brunch with plenty of parking close by. Quick,, friendly and efficient service. You can choose from a multitude of food and drinks. I had the Grilled haloumi yesterday which is delicious, but all the meals are tasty. There's indoor and outdoor seating, but I recommend booking between peak times. There's also a limit of about 2 hours for each booking. Dogs are welcome outside and the even provide a water bowl for them :)

Gosh, the photo already says a lot, but the omelette was as aesthetically pleasing as afterbirth, and was similarly inedible. Being surrounded by a cacophony of loud, morbidly overweight patrons, swearing incessantly, really topped it off. The standard of food in Hobart has really fallen off a cliff in recent years and I think Smolt may have been the first to jump.

Enjoyed our dinner at this consistently good local cafe. Half price parmies with any drink purchase on Wednesday nights is a good deal. Garlic pizza delicious as was the pork sausage and mushroom pizza. Beef burger got 10/10 too! Friendly staff and quick service. Recommend booking as it was full on a Wed night.

I booked for a mother's day lunch for my mother and aunts, the female waitress became was racist, rude and condescending and told them they had no booking, she raised her voice when telling them they had no booking and had the whole restaurant looking at them whilst she treated them like they weren't worth her time.

A male waiter came and comfirmed they had a booking, they had booked for 4 but due to an emergency had had to bring my cousin, the female waitress said the booking was for 4 not 5 and was very condescendingly loud about it when they tried to explain, the male waitress took them to their seats in the end and was very apologetic (which was the only reason they ended up staying).

When they went to pay she refused to serve them walked off and loudly told the male waiter who was in the back "they are ready to pay". The whole experience with the waitress was filed with microaggressions and racism and I would urge anyone who is a POC, especially black women to avoid this establishment.

I'm so appalled that the one day these lovely mothers had to finally celebrate, they were treated so poorly, they should be ashamed...

I was pretty excited to dine here, I liked the aesthetic of the venue and the options for food. But goddamn was the service bad, I arrived, no service, I walked to the desk thinking maybe I need to order there and they told me the full menu is “table service” so I grabbed a menu and sat down. When I was ready to order I looked over at the counter with the waiter and waitress, I kept looking, I turned my chair to face them and kept looking. After about 30 mins finally someone came to take my order. AND IT WASNT JUST ME! The guy sitting next to me ordered a steak sandwich. Waited and it never came, turned out his order just got lost in the ether. How did I remember it better than the staff? And it’s not like this is a big place either, it’s literally one room and some outdoor seating. I’ve worked in hospo so I have some sympathy but this was pretty...

Some of the reviews on here must be a joke, I've dined here on a number of occasions with my wife and 2 young children and have had nothing but great experiences every time. Plenty of books and colouring pages with pencils offered to help entertain the kids, the food has been amazing every time and some of the best pizzas we have had. We have ordered take away pizza also and was cooked perfectly, and in a decent time frame on a busy Saturday night. Smolt has been one of our favourite places to eat at since moving to the area, and try get here as often as we can, I highly recommend! The reviews about being pushed out the door and having to negotiate with staff to go back in for their child sounds like absolute nonsense, staff are all quite friendly and I have never seen anything to suggest this type of...
