Without exaggerating, quite possibly the worst dining experience I've ever had. Mum and I went here yesterday and ordered the pizza with prosciutto and boconcini. The pizzas that came out had neither, just regular cheap cheese and regular cheap ham. I mean, it tasted nice enough, but was very obviously not prosciutto or boconcini (I think we all know what those two things look like). We were in a rush so we just ate those pizzas but as we were paying for our meal, we let the staff know that we had not received the right meal. The waitress went to tell the kitchen, and the next thing we knew, the owner stormed up the stairs holding a plate of prosciutto (which looked so different to what we had on the pizza). (Also they conveniently ignored that they had forgotten the boconcini). We knew this would be trouble because he started yelling. He told us that there was prosciutto and boconcini on the pizza and tried to gaslight us into thinking we didn't know what those things looked and tasted like. We laughed as said no way, and he started screaming his head off at us. We had already paid so we tried to leave, and he yelled "no, you can't just leave," and physically blocked our way to the stairs. We tried to leave again, and he followed us down the stairs still yelling, and then blocked our way again. He pulled out some prosciutto again and shoved it in our faces. He was screaming, while telling us not to scream. This was happening in front of all the customers. We tried to leave again but he kept blocking our way. He accused us of yelling at the waitresses, while we were actually very calm. I honestly thought he was going to hit us. When we finally managed to squeeze out the door, he screamed "DON'T COME BACK MOTHE**UCKERS". I kid you not. This guy is a lunatic. If you want a deranged owner yelling at you for something that's his own fault, I highly recommend this place.
EDIT: It seems I'm not able to reply to the response below, so I'll leave my response here:
Dear Dianne, you admit that you were not there and unsurprisingly fiercely deny what has happened, as it does not look too good for a business owner to behave the way Domenic did. All of your other staff were polite and calm at all times, as were my mother and I. I find it incredulous to believe that after such an experience you think we would have the desire to return to...
Read moreLet’s start with the food: we got the carbonara which was actually okay. Can’t go wrong with cheese and cream really. Bacon was very average, more liked undercooked ham. Raghu spaghetti.. was just meat and pasta that was obviously left waiting under the heating lights waiting for the carbonara to be cooked because it came out as a dry clump of meaty pasta. After a generous amount of cheese it was then moist enough to be palatable. Some kind of sauce would have been lovely but to their credit there was a LOT of meat in that pasta. Dessert was interesting.. we got the chocolate mouse that was not too bad. The bad part was the additional decoration/what ever you want to put on it so it’s not just a basic plain mousse. Cotten candy and dry Turkish delights.. the Turkish delights were neatly hidden in our napkins after not being able to chew them they were so dry. The service was average. They didn’t even pour our bottle of wine. I don’t know what to expect at a suburban dinner joint but they’re not 4.6 starts like google says. For the price you pay you’d think the chef would give you something. Maybe it’s just a place a go get pizza I don’t know. Wouldn’t...
Read moreLast night we dined at Paesano's and were very impressed with the quality and value of their food. We started with garlic bread - which was just right! No "supermarket bread" used here! My Pepperoni pizza was very tasty - a lovely base stacked with great ingredients. The medium size, which fits neatly on a dinner plate, is a perfect size for most people, I would imagine! My wife had a chicken fettucine dish which she found delicious. It was a very generous helping - almost too much so! Desserts were the typical Italian favourites, so they were welcome. There is a good wine and beer selection, plus soft drinks. While I can't find reference to BYO on the website, as a corkage fee is listed on the wine list I would presume that Paesano also offers this. We will certainly dine here again, and definitely order take-away pizzas from them, too! "Atmosphere" rated a 4, because although the upstairs dining room is a good size and the furniture nice, the noise level is high. Some softer materials to absorb some of the ambient noise, such as curtains, or upholstered slabs on the ceilings, may...
