Thai Veggie Hutt — Restaurant in Hobart

Regular lunchtime customer for five years. They have always ensured a good profit margin by providing lots of rice/noodles and a small serve of the actual veggies,but the food was so tasty I chose to put up with it. New ownership and the serves got even stingier so I stopped going. Went back recently to try again and walked out with a single serve container only 3/4 full. More than half with noodles, and 1/8 veggies. Decided it was time to take a stand, and went back to ask for it to be topped up. They initially refused and told me it was the correct serving size. I pressed the matter, but the curry I had selected was finished and they refused to top up with any of the other veggie dishes as I had purchased "one topping only". They would however top up with noodles. Considering my $7.80 was already paying for mostly noodles I refused and indicated that I should get more veggies, not noodles. They refused. I took my meal and left and will never return. The vegan place next door is much more pleasant to deal with, but...

The food was good, the large portion should be enough for most ppl. I would just suggest that as a foreigner cousine if someone ask what the dish is don't just repeat the name of the plate, or even such as "same as this one but spicier", try to at least be considerate that not everyone will know about the food. And I dare to say that if someone spends over $70 ain't that hard not to charge for takeaway container, I won't bother to come back.

Absolutely ATROCIOUS experience. The food was awful, congealed and half warm, they didn't have the food that I ordered(laksa) and didn't tell me until afterwards when the other food had already been served up (and the laksa was the only reason we went there in the first place). AND to top it off, a child who I can only assume was the owners son was sitting with an iPad blasting YouTube videos WITHOUT HEADPHONES with explicit language at full volume. Absolutely horrible. I will not be back.
