Central Hotel - Bar, Bistro, Gaming & Accommodation — Hotel in Hobart

Never again. Rooms were clean, bathrooms, presentable and modern. And the Central location is fantastic but that's where the good features end. The place is difficult to find even with maps. Poor signage from street & No car park. We were greeted by a snarky evening manager who spoke poor English at best and less compassion. Even though it was a Sunday night and there was no patrons in the hotel. The music cranked loudly well after 9:00pm through the paper thin floor into our room. Tried to approach the main bar only to find all entrances locked and unnaccessable.the noise stopped eventually, and we finally got to sleep only to be woken at 6:00am by what can only be described as someone hitting a metal garbage can lid with a shifting spanner. Tried to approach the staff again only to be faced with the same problem, locked out. I do not recommend this place, but it does have a few good points mentioned above. We rate this 2...

Very good accommodation at the Central Hotel. We stayed for 4 nights and Room was cleaned daily, fresh towels, tea, coffee etc and biscuits daily. We arrived late on a Thursday night and the key was left in a key safe and easy to access. Price was very reasonable and compared to other accommodation in the area this place was the most central and convenient to all attractions and Woolworths and shops very close by. Very quiet place to sleep except Friday night when locals are having a drink in the back outside smoking area but venue closed at about 10.30pm so not a big deal. Downstairs has bar, dining area, pokies, keno and horse racing on tv. We had dinner on a Friday night and it was good but not great. Prices for food very reasonable. Staff nice and courteous. Keep in mind rooms accessible by stairs only. Would recommend to friends and family coming to Hobart...

In town for a recent sporting event the Central Hotel is exactly that, right in the centre of Hobart CBD.|The rooms are massive and plenty of space. The ensuite is very spacious as well.|Plenty of nearby activities being in the middle of the city, including markets, restaurants and shops.|Very safe walking around the city but always practice caution in a modern city but overall it's a safe area.|Easy to walk around with the hotel situated in the city and everything you need is all close by.|Complimentary coffee and tea is in the hotel room and plenty of restaurants, cafes and take away places are just outside the hotel.|I didn't get a chance to go to the downstairs pub / bistro but the menu...
