Went there for a coffe on a Sunday afternoon at 3 pm - 1, 5 hours before the Cafe closed... First I waited 20 min for a waiter before I needed to go inside to order my coffee there. After I got the coffee (taste was OK!) around 3.30 another waiter immediately started to put away all other chairs, umbrellas and tables. One hour before closing time! It was an immense noise and he even didn't try to do it a little more silently... As if he wanted to show me that I should leave as soon as possible. After 10 minutes of loudness my table and chair stood alone on the boardwalk. I really didn't feel welcome anymore so I decided to pay and leave to find another place where service is not that bad Inside it was as noisy as outside. There were still some guests having coffee and a snack but all the chairs around were already put on the other tables and one waiter was vaccuming the floor while talking on his mobile phone..... That was really the worst experience in an Australian Caffè of my holidays. Everywhere else the staff is friendly, polite and knows how to behave towards guests.

Retro cafe is on the main at of Salamanca it’s very beautiful spot with amazing atmosphere, the cafe it self is super busy however the food was amazing and great coffee, I had scrambled eggs on grain sourdough, with a side of halloumi, the the scramble eggs was light and fluffy and the side of halloumi was soft cooked to perfection. My friend had poached eggs with a side of crispy bacon. We both asked for just one piece of toast but it came out with two, I hate wasting things, The coffee here was amazing full of flavour that was subtle not bitter, was delicious the coffee was so nice we ordered two each

This is a funky little cafe in the Salamanca area of Hobart. Coffee is excellent I had a soup Le shot regular flat white with oat milk. I think I. Tasmania this is called a strong coffee. I also had an amazingly muffin baked fresh that day Banana and pear and blueberry. I had asked for butter did not need it. My partner was very healthy and had fresh fruit and yoghurt. I also had a great fresh fruit drink orange carrot and ginger and the ginger was not over done. Cost is usual $$ The carrot cake in the photo I did not have but it looked amazing.

The local recommended me to visit this coffee shop, it was really impressive. I ordered a flat white with almond milk but it tasted SALTY, Weird. But to be fair they made me a new one, but the coffee is still no much better than the coffee from petrol stations. I ordered the big breakfast, I asked for scrambled eggs but I got poached eggs. When I asked the waitress to please make me a new coffee she gave me a bit of attitude, then I got the eggs cooked wrong which shouldn’t be a big problem but I just gave up asking her to fix the mistake they made. So if you wanna start a wonderful morning with a cup of coffee, and you’re looking at this review, think twice if you’re still coming to this cafe. The espresso bar in Salamanca square is much...

Young man working behind the coffee machine spoilt this place. He is very agitated and annoyed at customers. First time visit he got emotional because I asked if he had any sugar after he made my coffee, He slammed down an empty cup as was annoyed and flustered that I asked. Second visit I asked for extra cheese on the toastie and a regular coffee. When the coffee came out it was a small so I explained I asked for a regular. He looked at the receipt and said it was $12 for the toastie, and extra cheese was $2.50. Trying to justify his mistake and continuing to argue like a child would argue. I eventually verified the order and mistake with another staff member. Spoiled my day having Won't go there again even though they make a...
