Hotel Metropole — Restaurant in Ipswich City

I came to Ipswich Central Hotel for lunch with my sister today. Wonderful experience. My sister had the steak sandwich with chips and I had rib fillet steak with mash and veg.

We both enjoyed our meals. The steak sandwich was nicely done as was my steak (tender and full of flavour).

We sat in the beer garden, which was very pleasant, but the inside of the pub was also inviting, nicely done up, and clean.

A highlight of our day was the friendly service provided by Amanda. She was very engaging, made us feel welcome, and even offered to take a photo for us when she saw me about to take a selfie.

Highly recommend this pub and look forward to coming...

Friendly reliable and predictable hotel with a good range of reputable draught beers on tap. The refrigerators carry additional beer varieties as well as a range of affordable bottled wines. Service is timely, friendly, efficient and accommodating. The restaurant menu is diverse with a good selection of affordable classic hotel entrees, meals and desserts. Restaurant seating choices are public bar, beer garden and formal restaurant when open. Streams 50's, 60's and 70's music. Convenient street parking always within a short walk. I went there with friends for a midweek beer and an evening meal. Usual pub food.... probably a little better than most. Very friendly staff/atmosphere and a clean tidy bar and outdoor dining area. I'd guess they have music there at times but none while we were there We enjoyed our meal and spoke to some locals. All good and we were very happy with our meal and time there.
