This is not good Italian nor Italian-Australian food. Ordered some takeaway tonight and took over an hour for 2 pizzas and a pasta dish to arrive with no communication for the delay from the restaurant (just got a call from the lovely delivery driver once the order was finally outside). Pizza bases were chewy, dense, and definitely store bought (perfect circular bases with perfectly even thickness and mechanically precise "fork" holes even distributed in the base etc.). The non dairy/vegan cheese on one of the pizzas also just the supermarket packet stuff (my guess would be Coles home brand), not home made or just a better brand of pre made non dairy cheese. The margherita pizza had no basil leaves at all on it (so it was missing one of the three ingredients of a Margherita!), and the sauce was so thin / sparingly applied you could see the pizza dough through it in most areas - the small amount of sauce that was on the pizza was also dry as a bone by the time it finally arrived to us, we had to add some of the sauce from the pasta dish just to make it edible! Even then, couldn't eat more than 2.5 slices without giving up on it - we've honestly had dominos pizzas that are better / more edible than this! The pasta arrabiata sauce itself was fine (nice but not amazing), but the cheese once again looked and tasted like the packet stuff. Biggest crime was charging $4 extra for the gnocchi option when it was clearly store bought: Tough, chewy, dense, stodgy gnocchi that wasn't even cooked properly (even though I know it came with packet instructions!) No chance it is home/restaurant made pasta...this packet gnocchi shouldn't be allowed as an option on the menu if you're just going to buy the cheap pre made stuff. Went in with high hopes given the reviews, but overall very disappointed with our meal and won't be ordering...

What I ordered and personally recommend: 🍝 PASTAS Fettuccini Bosciola You standard bosciola, definitely can't go wrong with the very creamy sauce + bacon and mushroom bits.
⭐ Mamma Mia If you love pasta and would love to try something different from the standard marinara, Bolognese, carbonara and bosciola, I would recommend the Mamma Mia pasta. This pasta has a good punch of flavour, it's a creamy red sauce with a small hint of chilli in the sauce. (Personally I did not find it spicy, but it definitely gave the sauce a nice boost).
🍕 PIZZA Suprema A classic tomato based pizza with onion, ham, spicy salami, mushrooms, bacon, cabanossi, capsicum, olives and mozzarella cheese pizza. Very simple in flavours and toppings 😊
You can choose between a small or large pizza, between 2 people you could easily share a large pizza it's sized to a standard dominoes or...

It was a complete nightmare finding a restaurant that would have an open kitchen operating after 8pm in Launceston. Most kitchens close at 8pm, whereas this place saves the night with a great menu available into the later hours of the night!
Thankfully this fantastic Osteria@Lonnies did not disappoint. Absolutely fresh ingredients, cosy ambience, tasty Italian dishes with a refined yet complete menu, friendly service, great prices and courteous staff overall. Would absolutely recommended dining here, with the added bonus that the kitchen actually operates after 8pm in a city known for fast food only at night.
5 stars (A+) for the great dining experience, a gem of a restaurant for Launceston after dark.
