Curry Club Launceston — Restaurant in Launceston

We had a very disappointing experience a couple days ago. The Chef and/or Owner of the restaurant is quite rude with the customers and the young waitress who works for him.

We ordered two dishes, chicken tikka masala (extra spicy), chana & pumpim masala (medium spicy), he somehow managed to make chana dish spicier than the chicken dish. We told the waitress, and she went to the kitchen and told him, he got very loud and rude with the waitress saying it was our fault. We told them again that its spicier then the dish my friend had asked to make extra spicy. After yelling a little more at the waitress he asked her to waive off the price of that dish.

Soon after, he started yelling at another customer who came to pick up his order and had asked for a bag to put all the takeaway boxes in. Not sure what had gone wrong there, but he got loud again.

In my opinion, he should be respectful to everyone, cusomers and employees who work for him.

Our family love curry and so we were very happy to find Curry Club. The food is really beautifully prepared and cooked. One of my sons ordered Beef Madras and the meat was so tender, just falling apart, delicious! I'm a lover of good vegetarian food (and Indian cuisine does vegetarian so well) so I have great confidence in recommending the Kadai Paneer, wonderful. I've also eaten the Palak Paneer and Dal Makhani. all delicious. I'm a diabetic and can't have a mango lassi, so I asked the waiter if I could have a 'salt' lassi instead. He knew what I meant and the drink he made for me surpassed my expectations, totally yummy, so staff are only too happy to cater to something not on the menu (well a small thing). I ordered lamb curry, and was quite disappointed with the experience. Unfortunately, the curry lacked quality and did not meet expectations, especially considering the price of $44. When I attempted to provide feedback directly, I found the response from management unhelpful and dismissive, which left me feeling that customer concerns were not taken seriously. There are several restaurants in Launceston offering much better quality and service, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this venue.
