What a gem! Happened to go here with some locals from Launceston who know really good quality food. The service was fast, friendly, and the overall vibe was nourishing. Parking was easy just on the street. There are only a handful of chairs inside but takeaway is definitely a strong point for them. We opted to eat outside which was great. I’ve learned they were doing street food before opening up the restaurant and clearly they have got it right! Will definitely go here again! All very reasonably priced too!

Walked past this cute restaurant and was impressed with the small menu..I tried the beef bowl yesterday and the karaage chicken rice bowl today. The chicken rice bowl is a definite winner. Chicken was nice and juicy without being greasy. There's not many good Asian restaurants in Launceston so Small Grain is a winner at the moment.

i am on trip to tasmania from nsw (woohoo!!) i decided i must .... get japanese cuisine... so obviously so of course that this was the that i would go to small grain! i experienced lovely amazing customer service when i ordered i ordered the beef bowl.... but ... they were out of rice !!!!! HUH !?!!??! WTH, but! they said that they said they would replace the rice with a salad substitute... i thought how peculiar they would run out of rice for the rice bowls hmmm but i decided that a salad bowl would be worth it. and boy was it !!!!! every part of the bowl got better with every bite of every part of the bowl ! i was very impressed by how flavourful the food was the food was simply delectable yum yum ! all in all i really enjoyed but must only give 4 stars become they ran out of rice ???? whwh whaaaa!?!?? and because it was a bit pricey... money doesnt grow on trees don't you know 😜😛😛🤣🤣🤣 im only a working man i work hard for my money and expect very little but this brought a great joy to my...

Great food friendly environment the best chips I have ever had I stopped by Smallgrain recently and was blown away by how good their hot chips were! Perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned just right — you can tell they put real care into making them. The portion size was generous, and they were fresh and piping hot when served. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the overall vibe of the place made the experience even better. If you’re looking for the best hot chips around, Smallgrain is the spot. I’ll definitely be...
