my experience at the DaDa museum in launceston yesterday - before I reached the gallery elevator located inside right next to the DaDa Artworks I was having a fun time with my friends taking in the artworks one by one but once I reached the elevator inside the gallery I soon realised the exhibition was just a famous artist thirst trap that leads to the most ridiculous anti vax dribble plastered all over the gallery elevator which was stuck up by the gallery that it actually just ruins the experience of taking in Salvador Dalis artworks. Totally Bizarre. as an Autistic person i never feel entirely safe in anti vax spaces as I know there is a big majority of anti vax believers that believe vaccines cause autism which like, don’t even get me started on that. Honestly left a really bad taste in my mouth. On arrival I was considering paying $10 to go see more DaDa artworks up stairs but soon felt I didn’t want to give any money to this organisation. Disappointing to see SO MUCH dangerous false information spread in this public space.. Especially when it’s a space that invites young impressionable people to...
Read morePhenomenal experience. The restoration and care put into the historic building as a home for the history of Dadaism and Dali is of a quality that is extraordinary for its home of Launceston. The Owner, Brenden, gave the tours himself and his passion and knowledge was evident by his explanation of each and every work as well as his excitement for future exhibits and collection expansions. While my partner and I are not the greatest at planning, we arrived an hour before the next tour and were given our own tour through the building thanks to the generosity of the staff and owner. It was a truly special experience and a great way to commemorate our anniversary. The one flaw I would say is that I wish there was some merch or trinket I could take home as a physical memory of the experience! Highly recommend to all those passing through with a passion and love for art, as well as the joy of hearing someone passionate...
Read moreWe arrived almost before closing but the ladies at reception were very nice. Amazing to see these works in such a small museum and very cool to see the patterns in his work over these pieces on paper. Was sometimes unclear when a painting displayed wasn't his (either homage, relevant related work or an imitation by other artists), although they did provide plenty of written information for the entire display...
