If I had one meal left before I met my maker, I’d be sprinting to Yalla Balla like it’s the Shawarma Olympics. The chicken shawarma? Tenderer than a woman’s touch .Juicy, flavourful, wrapped in a warm embrace of pita like it’s tucking you in for a nap after a breakup.
And the hummus? Let’s just say it gave me goosebumps in places hummus has no business affecting. Smooth, creamy, and borderline illegal.
The customer service is so good, I want to be apart of their family. These people don’t just make food—they make magic, wrap it a perfect shawarma holder and hand it to you with a smile.

I had seen some reviews that said the service was bad/food was bad/place wasn’t clean and I think they must’ve gone to a different place?! (Someone posted a review with a cockroach on a plate - this place is all takeaway and doesn’t have flatware or metal cutlery)
Staff were welcoming and friendly. They were busy when I went for Friday lunch, so the wait was a bit longer, but they were appreciative that people were waiting. Read moreI had high hopes for Yalla Balla after seeing it all over Instagram, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The chicken shawarma, in particular, was disappointing – I actually couldn’t even finish it.
That said, the chips were a standout – honestly some of the best I’ve tried in Perth, super crispy and well-seasoned!
One downside was the drinks situation – we had to get them from another nearby restaurant/bar, which was a bit inconvenient, especially since it was a cold day. The overall atmosphere felt a bit off because of that.
Would consider coming back just for the chips, but not sure...
