It's meh. They're in such a great location I guess they don't really care about the rest? Got a table for breakfast and the waiter was lovely, obviously new but very attentive. When ordering from the menu I chose "eggs your way" with a selection of sides. I asked for egg whites and miso vegetables. The waiter couldn't understand (english second language) totally fine, so he asked his supervisor to translate. When I asked for "2 eggs your way" to be 2 egg whites she said "ugh, no, nope..just...no" as she walked off. Didn't even stay to finish her sentence. Came off dismissive and rude. Eggs your way doesn't actually mean that? Too hard basket? I wouldn't have thought separating the yolk before cooking was too challenging. Honestly, if she wasn't so rude it would have been fine but her attitude just sucked and just shocked our whole table. I ordered harder eggs so I could scrape the yolk out.
When my son received his vanilla milkshake the cup was dirty with green muck on the rim. They weren't busy, still empty tables available so can't justify the sloppiness. In the end, my food was ok, I expected the smoked salmon to be in strips, not a fried piece of fillet. Still ok though. Veges were good and eggs benne ordered from others was enjoyed but nothing I'd rave about and want to take friends back. Read moreSo disappointed with the service received at Williams Street this morning. We came in with our toy poodle and were told that he wasn’t allowed inside. We sat outside in the cold but upon leaving there were two patrons who came in after us sitting at seperate tables inside with dogs. These were not service dogs but family pets. So disappointed with the double standards. We won’t be back.
In reply to Dan’s comment,
Most assistance animals wear some form of identification. Examples of identification worn by assistance animals include vests, harnesses or collars identifying that they are associated with an assistance animal training organisation - the large dog that came in had neither of these.
We would have been more than happy to have been seated by the door inside where the other dog was, but we were never given that option - instead told strictly no dogs indoors.
There was no unacceptable reaction towards your staff member, I calmly questioned her about the double standards and said that it was “Not cool, not cool at all and that we wouldn’t be back”.
An apology would have been more fitting than trying to point the finger at the customer.
