As someone who rarely, if ever, ventures into a recognised fast food/takeaway venue, this visit was truly a spontaneous, 'I feel like a burger!' one.
My wife and I arrived around 5:30pm, on Friday night, and the place was therefore buzzing. We used the electronic ordering system and found it easy to navigate and logically laid out. Once the bill was paid (tap card, done), we observed the large number of staff working away, while we waited. Truthfully, I was really impressed with their efforts, and commented to my wife how so many people would rather stay home or socialise on a Friday night, so to see this group of young people diligently working to meet demand was impressive. My genuine praise to them all.
Our wait time was minimal, 10 minutes at most, before we were seated and ready to eat. Our burgers were surprisingly good, with ample flavour and very moist chicken. My burger was somewhat on the cool side, but that didn't detract from my overall enjoyment. The loaded fries were decent, and our drinks were fine as well. Lots of ice in the iced coffee meant a smaller serve, but that practice is becoming the norm in most places. Not great, but par for the course, unfortunately.
The restaurant itself was clean and tidy, amenities were close by and easily accessible, and the bench seating we used was both spacious and comfortable.
Parking, even on a busy Friday night, was easy and we only had a very short walk to the front doors. On our way out, a staff member kindly held the doors for us; great manners and much appreciated.
In summary, although we may not set foot in this business for a long time to come, we were glad we took the plunge. Contrary to the negative reviews, both the staff members and food provided a...

Read morein the Browns Plains area and craving a quick bite, Hungry Jack’s is one of those familiar stops that most Aussies know like the back of their hand. I popped into the Browns Plains store recently and had a mixed experience — not terrible, but not amazing either.
First impressions? The place was decently clean and the layout was typical for a Hungry Jack’s. I went through the drive-thru, which was fairly quick given the lunchtime rush. I ordered a Whopper meal with onion rings on the side. The burger was hot and fresh, and I have to say — they didn’t skimp on the fillings, which was a nice surprise. The onion rings were crispy, not soggy, and the chips were salted just right.
On the downside, the customer service felt a little robotic. The staff were polite but not exactly warm or engaging, which makes a difference when you’re spending your lunch break there. Also, I noticed a couple of other customers waiting a bit too long inside for their orders, so it might depend on timing.
What stood out, though, was how much better this branch was compared to others I’ve been to in shopping centres. It felt like more effort had gone into food quality, which I appreciate.
All up, if you’re after a solid, no-fuss fast food fix, Hungry Jack’s Browns Plains does the job. Just don’t expect gourmet service — it’s quick food, done mostly right. Worth it if you’re passing through or on a lunch break and want something familiar...
