This is one of the newer Korean eateries in a centre chock full of Korean businesses. You might think there’s already too much competition but the good thing is none of the Korean restaurants here are very similar to any of the others, and each has its own specialties and focus.
So what is good here? Fried chicken. That is, the Korean kind of KFC. And I’d always suggest getting bone-in for maximum flavour, but they do offer boneless if you want that option. There are 7 flavours available, and sizing wise a whole (bone-in) chicken is good for 2-3 people, whilst the boneless comes in full or half serve portions. You can also go half and half on the whole bone in / full boneless sizes, and that was the perfect route for me and my buddy.
Our order: Half and half fried chicken (bone-in), $35.90 Sauce choices: spicy soy, hot & spicy sweet chilli Beef bulgogi rice bowl, $14.90
For $50.80 this was a fair bit of food. We could have ordered less but wanted to try multiple chicken flavours plus pair it with some carbs. Good feed overall and our favourite was the spicy soy fried chicken. Whilst I do usually enjoy the yang nyum flavour sauce on my Korean fried chicken we found this rendition a touch sweet and cloying after 1-2 pieces, so would opt for one of the other spicy sauces if we want some heat next time.
The bulgogi beef rice bowl was fine. Ticks all the boxes of what you’d expect, and would make for a solid choice of a meal in itself if you’re not feeling chicken.
Service is functional. Seems to be only 2 people there (presumably husband and wife team) with 1 cooking and 1 looking after front of house. Order at the counter upon entering the store and food will be brought out to your table. The place does seem to be more popular with takeaway orders than dining in, at least that was my observation when I visited.
The interior is brightly lit and set up with a mixture of counter seats and booths that would comfortably fit 4. I don't think any of this has changed from the previous shop that was here before Papa Chicken. Seats offer no cushioning, but it's not a sit and chat for hours type of place.
I would be happy to return for more KFC, rice bowls, and hopefully try one of the burgers on the menu...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Recently dined at Papa Chicken and what an experience it was! The place radiates freshness from the moment you step in. Clean, well-lit, and beautifully designed, it instantly sets a comforting tone for the meal ahead.
And speaking of meals, the chicken here is nothing short of stellar. Deliciously tender and full of flavor, every bite screams 'freshness'. Papa Chicken clearly knows their poultry, and they serve it up with perfection every single time.
The contemporary layout of the restaurant complements its modern approach to traditional chicken dishes. The space is ample, ensuring guests can savor their food without feeling rushed or cramped. The décor is tastefully done and adds to the overall new and refreshing vibe of the place.
Friendly and efficient - the staff truly elevated our dining experience.

Read moreBEST KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN IN BRISBANE. My husband and I visit often. We've ordered all the Fried chicken options on the menu. Most of the rice bowls except Teriyaki and Avocado and we've also tried the Prawn burger. Yet to try the other burgers on the menu. ALL the food on the menu are ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS, no exaggeration. I am quite fussy with food, however no flaws here. They cook crispy chicken on the outside, yet really juicy and soft on the inside. The rice bowls are full of flavour, i love the bulgogi rice bowl. Staff are super kind and friendly. We always recommend this place as most Korean fried chicken places don't come close in our opinion and we've been to alot. This is now our favourite 😍. The bigger places have got nothing on the quality these guys put into...
