I found myself craving a chicken burger with a side of chips and gravy yesterday. The cost of living is rising, including that of takeaway food, but Margaret River is known for being particularly expensive, hence the nick-name ‘Mark-up River’. Other burger places in Margaret River charge $30-$35 for what I required, which is why I was pleasantly surprised when I was only charged $23.60 at Kappadokia.
My burger was amazing. They are big burgers. The chicken burger doesn’t have a chicken paddy as such, rather shredded chicken all through it. The burger is that generously overloaded that a lot falls out of the edges, I recommend eating over your bag provided so you don’t let any go to waste.
The chips were fresh, hot and crunchy. The gravy was good, old-fashioned, thick and beefy. One dip of a chip into this gravy brought childhood memories flooding back of how good gravy used to taste.
I want to give this joint an honest review and wish I could give 5 stars for food, service and atmosphere. The food - in my experience of this amazing chicken burger, chips and gravy, Yes 5 stars. The service - Yes it was great, I called and ordered on the phone and was quoted a 10 minute wait and when I arrived exactly 10 minutes later, my order was waiting for me. I wasn’t standing at the counter for long before I was greeted and this was during peak dinner time. The Atmosphere - it is what it is. It’s not a dine-in restaurant, it’s a takeaway kebab shop. You can eat at the tables provided outside, but it’s probably designed to just give you the food and you take it elsewhere.
Keep up the good work, reasonable prices and epic food Kappadokia, the longest running takeaway food shop in...

Super disappointing. On what looked to be a fairly slow Saturday night the staff managed to lose my order somehow.
Once it did come out the kebab was mushy and barely held together. The salads had no crunch or any texture that stood out amongst the slop of sauce and doughy wrap. I asked for no tomato, saw the lady make a note of it, and still got tomato inside. Chucked it in the bin halfway through.
Ordered a meatbox as well only to find half the chips to be undercooked and starchy. No amount of sauce slathered over the top can redeem poorly cooked ingredients.
The only upside was that the meat itself was tasty and at least mostly juicy. Would be depressing if they had found a way to ruin that too.
With so many incredible options for food around this area you'd be doing yourself a disservice to come here unless you were...
Read moreI go to Margaret River every couple of weeks, but getting disenchanted with the tired often dirty coffee shops with sub-standard food and coffees. Today saw Kappadokia fish and chips as I walked past. Felt like something more substantial for a change. Hmmm, clean shop, saw they did Doner Kebab, friendly service....was I in for a surprise 😮 best chips ever, then I enjoyed a Kebab the like I haven't had for 40 years when I lived overseas...the meat was absolutely delicious with lovely salad. Oh, he asked if wanted a bag, after putting a little paper bag over the chips to keep them hot, then proceeded to put every in a sturdy bag, so I could carry to my car, things were still warm 30 minutes later...excellent excellent. Next time I go to Margaret River that's where I will...
