We are *locals in Margaret river and come here on a regular basis for always the same meal.

*(Using that term loosely as we moved to area about a year ago but we do plan on staying long term) We love the breakfast that we get and the coffee is always good. More than that we love the whole vibe of the cafe and all of the staff and how relaxed it feels in there even though it’s always popular. This was until a few days ago, for my partners birthday when we went in for our usual breakfast order. It was busy so we left and came back later as we didn’t mind because the breakfast is that good. We ordered and when the food came my partner asked for some tomato sauce to accompany the breakfast. It’s our usual so we know that it comes with some chutney already but we like the extra tomato sauce too just personal preference. The girl serving checked it with us and we said we knew and the sauce request didn’t seem to be an issue as always.

This 1 small ramekin of tomato sauce caused a drama among all the staff working. We overheard that they were very insulted by being asked for extra sauce and how they didn’t understand why some people did that. This was discussed very loudly behind our table amongst all the staff there. It was so rude and made my partner feel incredible uncomfortable and we just couldn’t believe that 1 small ramekin of sauce could have warranted this reaction. We approached the girl serving and told her we overheard what she had said and how it was very rude. She told us it was the chef who had made the fuss and was offended by the sauce request. This was even more disappointing to hear as locals who visit regularly and spend a great deal of money here.

We were left feeling very unwelcome and uncomfortable by the whole situation. I don’t think we will...

Saturday afternoon we were looking for a place for a lite lunch when we stumbled across the gem on Willmott Avenue in Margaret River. The food was so good by the time I remembered to get a photo it was half gone. We had the Avocado on toast and my young fella had the pancakes with fresh strawberries and Ice Cream. The Mango Slushie, Mango Smoothie and Big Bold Red Juice were also delicious. The staff were really friendly, and even came over to confirm a food allergy we informed them of, to ensure we knew all ingredients to double check there wasn’t anything else that may affect. We are going back tomorrow to try out breakfast. Huge thank you to all the staff for ensuring our needs were met, and also the smiling eyes (masks worn) making our lunch an enjoyable and...

Visited today as a group of 4 and from the get go staff were unhelpful. Fair enough that it was a busy day (we were happy to wait for a seat) but we felt unwelcome and as if it was a burden to have us there.

When a 4 person table became available they told us it was reserved (again, fair enough) but we then later found out it was for one woman. The woman noticed that there were larger groups waiting to be seated and offered to sit at a smaller table as it was just her and staff kept saying it was fine and she should sit at the larger table. When we ordered, the staff member taking our order also seemed like he just didn’t want to be there.

Food was decent but on the smaller side. Due to the customer service we won’t be returning or...

It was a rainy rainy day and we took refuge for breakfast/brunch in the Drift Café - best decision ever! The food was delicious (we took the pancakes, granola, zucchini bread and gluten free brownie), fresh ingredients and generous portions. The coffee also really good. The staff is so friendly. We had been looking for a particular scenic road in the area, and they helped us figure out where it was (shoutout to Maria!). The vibe of the café is the cherry in the cake - the music is great and neither too loud nor too quiet, there's great local artwork for sale on the wall as well as local souvenirs. All in all, the 4 of us would 100% recommend stopping for a bite to eat or a coffee here! Thank you for a lovely morning Drift Cafe!

Most beautiful and cozy cafe, staff were so welcoming and warm aswell as being super attentive. I went up to order a coffee and got the coffee before I even came to sit back down, the girl said she’s heard me talking about it and made me one straight away. It’s such a great atmosphere with vinyls and plants. The best smoothies I’ve ever had, and the pancakes are absolutely perfect. I can’t find a fault. Never disappoints. It may be pricey but the portions and flavour make up for it. I’m surprised about the negative reviews they’ve received in the past, to anyone who’s had a bad experience. A second won’t hurt. Have been there multiple times every-time I come down south and it never misses
