El Toro Margaret River — Restaurant in Margaret River

Our dinner started a bit rough. The following occurred.

1.) Their printer was not working right. So no small dishes came out. 2.) Whole fish that was ordered was changed without telling me. Changed completely. I changed to a Special they had on Main Size - Picanha steak 3.) When our small dish of grilled prawns came out one was semi-raw.

But what happened next is what got me. They offered us a free drink which was ok. Then...the entire fish main, because they wanted us to try it... When I went to settle the bill after going to the bathroom I was told already taken care of. I looked at my wife, she looked at me funny... Then the kitchen offered free dessert on top as we were about to go home... I'm completely blown away by the generosity shown to us and how sincere they were in making sure we had a fantastic meal.

The experience was amazing. The service was second to none.

Now let's talk about the actual food we received.

Kids - steak and chips - fantastic son loves it, we stole some as well, it was so much better than we expected.

Small dishes: Grilled Scallops - amazing, son's favourite, won't stop telling us in car. Grilled prawns - amazingly good Pulled pork taco - probably not our taste Chorizo - high quality and very delicious

Mains - Prawn pasta - mixture of prawns and Chorizo delightfully delicious Special main - Picanha steak - charcoal grilled to perfection. Best dish of the night for us. Fish (Barra) - well seasoned and balanced an amazing dish as well.

Desert - Creme brulee - a lot of fun, instant crack on the sugar Churros - delicious for my wife and I, son less so because the cocoa powder is a bit too bitter for him

Overall done of the best food I've ever had.

The best word to describe ElToro is 'awesome'! We are visiting Margaret River from Adelaide SA for our honeymoon and this resturant certainly did not dissappoint with the quality of the food, drinks and service. The atmosphere is delightful, creates a fun ambience. The waitstaff were super friendly and helpful. They couldn't do enough for us. The drinks menu was extensive, I tried a 'Dark and Stormy' cocktail, which was one of the best cocktails I have ever had...soooo yummy! The menu offers lots of choice and we fell victim to ordering too much because everything sounded amazing! My partner and I enjoyed the crispy squid with lime salad for entree. This was on the menu as a 'small plate' designed to share but was an extremely generous portion. It was cooked to perfection, with the salad and aoli purposeful in its addition and super creative. For mains my partner enjoyed the scotch-fillet steak and I had the rump-cap special. Both were melt in your mouth, moorishly great! Again, a generous serving, accompanied by seasonal vegetables and condiments. The vegetables were all flavoursome and beautifully cooked. My pumpkin-puree was smooth as silk and spiced beautifully. We got a side of patatas bravas (I hope that is the correct spelling, apologies) which were soooo yummy. Potato in a spicy red sauce with ricotta. We were so broken-hearted to have to leave the last bit on the table, but we were so full (even for big eaters). All the food was fantastic! My partner and I so appreciate good food prepared in a way that you can clearly see the respect and passion for good produce! This resturant is a wonderful place for any foodie. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I could give 100 stars, I absolutely would! I just had the most unforgettable dining experience at El Toro tonight, and both the food and service were truly next level.

Top tier service: we were lucky enough to have Chris looking after us all night and honestly, we haven’t experienced customer service this amazing in such a long time. Chris, you are an absolute breath of fresh air 😌 thank you for making our very first night in Margaret River start with such a bang! All of the bar and wait staff were also super friendly, warm and attentive 😭 we felt genuinely cared for from start to finish! 🥰

Mouthwatering food: every single dish we ordered was perfection. The seafood gnocchi was light, fluffy and paired with a cream sauce that was to die for. The wagyu strip sirloin (from the specials menu) cooked medium-rare was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The Peruvian chicken skewers and street corn were also full of flavour and absolutely delicious. Even our margaritas were amazing and my mocktail version (pregnancy-friendly!) was just as scrumptious.

By the end we were completely stuffed, but as a dessert lover I couldn’t resist ordering the crème brûlée. And I’m so glad I did because hands down, it was the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had! Pure magic!! Every dish we tried was 10/10 *chef’s kiss 😗🤌🏻

To top it all off, the head chef/owner (we believe) came out to personally thank us and even gave our daughter a little toy to take home. That thoughtful gesture really touched us 🥹 we left feeling not just like customers, but like friends 🥰

El Toro clearly values their guests and it shows in every detail. We’ll be recommending this gem to all our friends and family visiting down south. THANK YOU to the incredible team at El Toro – we will definitely be...
