We paid $67 for two takeaway pastas & garlic bread which I consider way too much for what we have received. $13 for garlic bread was daylight robbery. 4 tiny squashed bread slices with parmesan, seems like you forgot to add any garlic component to it as it was literally the most bland garlic bread I have ever had. Probably the most expensive one too? I would expect proper sourdough slices with oil/garlic/parmesan and not weird flavourless toast bits. My partner did enjoy bolognese, I personally did not like how the beef was seasoned and I would not enjoy it had I ordered it. My carbonara was again pretty bland, it was lacking salt & pepper, also truffle overpowered everything else. I prefer crispy guanciale bits in my carbonara. Was not the case here. I received heaps of undercooked bacon instead. Now to the worst part⦠I have found a hair in my carbonara. Absolutely unacceptable. Needless to say I will not be back!!!
Edit: well thatās a bizzarre response. The apparent clear description of garlic bread in your menu states: āHomemade Focaccia, Garlic Butter, Parmesan, Parsleyā, not ā4 slices of toast covered in parmesanā (no garlic butter or parsley present) which is what Iāve received. Your āclearā description of pasta is missing a mention that no salt & pepper were used in cooking process. Trust me I find it even more surprising (or should I say disguisting?) I have found a hair in pasta Iāve just paid $27 for. Is there only two people working in your restaurant? I donāt think so. Iāve seen at least 3 people moving around behind the counter when I made the order. considering both me & my partner are blonde I canāt see how else would a short black hair end up in a sealed pasta container. Funny that Italians generally have dark hair, donāt they? So much for those hygiene protocols. Clearly no accountability taken...
Ā Ā Ā Read morethis place is fookin amazing! when walking my greyhound at night i noticed this was the only eatery that didn't have that old oil smell that taints the australian air (in cape town it is illegal to use cooking oil more than twice so i sure know the difference in taste (and smell) of a meal cooked with fresh/second-hand oil). that said, this meant i had to try this little cafe on my first luncheon out in years. have to say, for someone that is a complete foodie and eats usually her own home-grown goodies at home, our meals were excellent. the pasta was succulent and squishy yum yum (had the pumpkin gnocchi and my friend had the pasta bolognaise); the garden salad was fresh (very unexpected when one picks his/her own from the garden on a daily basis and eats within minutes); the great choice of tai mardi icecream and the BESTEST chocolate mousse EVER. it doesn't sound it but i am the most difficult person to feed. i eat anything but rarely do i find an eatery nowadays that serves FRESH, no oily after-taste, delicious grub. thanks so much. service with a smile. all staff were friendly and the ambience perfect - we ate at 3.30pm so i bet the evenings are...

If you're craving authentic Italian food with heart, soul, and a dash of WA charm, The Spot Italiano is the place. Tucked along Bussell Highway in Margaret River, this cozy spot feels like stepping into a family-run osteria straight out of Naples.
We tried the truffle carbonara and casarecce pastaāboth were next-level. Rich, silky, and clearly made with love. The arancini? Crispy perfection with a light, flavorful filling. And donāt skip dessertāthe tiramisu and chocolate mousse are chefās kiss.
What really sets this place apart is the vibe. Chef Giovanni brings the warmth of Italy to every table, and Alicia made us feel like royalty. The service is relaxed but attentive, and the whole experience spills out onto the street like a sunlit Italian evening.
Whether you're a pasta purist or just passing through Margaret River, do yourself a favor and eat here. Itās fresh, flavorful, and full of soul. Already planning...
