Considering all the raving reviews about this place, we came into conclusion maybe we just ordered the wrong things. We ordered chorizo pizza & lamb flat bread. The pizza base was good, but the toppings tasted cheap. The chorizos didn’t taste like real Spanish chorizos, they were like those cheap ones you can get in coles/woolies. Taste more like cheap spicy sausage. The lamb flat bread was truly disappointing. It was very dry with very little amount of shredded meat. There was no sauce, just a few small dollop of condiments, not even olive oil. A kebab shop would have done a much better job. Furthermore, we think this item should have been classified as a shared starter instead of mains, and should have been half the price. The best thing we ordered was the ginger beer which was quite average on its own. The mango passionfruit beer taste like chemical. The worse flavoured beer I’ve tried. Both canned. The bill came up to around $85. We reckon it’s very overpriced for the quality of the food we got. The venue was average. The service was friendly. I’m sorry to say, but it was the worse dining experience in Margaret River during our stay...
Read moreWhat a gem in the heart of Margaret River! We stumbled upon the Margaret River Tuck Shop while exploring the area, and it turned out to be one of the best food stops on our trip. The menu was refreshingly unique, with plenty of hearty and wholesome options—and we were especially impressed by the availability of gluten-free choices, which made it so easy for our group to enjoy without worry.
I tried kangaroo meat for the very first time here and was genuinely blown away. It was perfectly tender, well-seasoned, and cooked just right—lean yet juicy, and full of flavour. A real highlight! The rest of the food was equally excellent, from the fresh ingredients to the generous portions and thoughtful presentation. You can tell the team here cares about both quality and customer experience.
The staff were friendly, down-to-earth, and happy to offer recommendations. The place has a relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, I highly recommend dropping by. Delicious food, great service, and a true taste of something special—Margaret River Tuck Shop deserves every one...

To pay so little, for true gastronomy was astounding. The Oysters are the same price at the pub down the road and there is no chance they would even come close.
We ate only seafood (Octopus, Oysters, Ceviche, Scallops, Prawns) and every dish that was ordered, was perfectly balanced and totally unique in its own right. There was no fear to ensure a common thread between seasonings, or flavour profiles, only that of immaculate local produce, all the way down to the Gerladton Wax grown on site, just past the back deck. Truly inspired and singular, with all standing independently as sensational dishes. Everything down to the mignonette was intricately designed and perfectly executed.
Front of house were polite, organised, engaging and didn’t miss a beat. The manager was welcoming and professional while ensuring that my partners dietary requirements were heard and taken into consideration.
