I rarely write negative reviews as I know how hard it is to run a cafe in this environment, but the service I received here this morning and observed other customers receiving was really poor. The older lady there was so rude to the customers. For example, there was a very elderly and frail old man (late 80s) standing next to the payment machine with another fellow. He was blocking the door a bit as it is a very narrow cafe. Rather than patiently wait for her very elderly customer to pay, the older woman physically shoved him aside and as she did it started spinning the poor fellow around pretending to ballroom dance with him. It was totally bizarre and the poor man was so shocked and upset. As I was paying she then physically shoved me aside too. She was impatient and treated us all like we were annoying and getting in her way. I observed her speak very rudely to the young waitress working for her. It was a very unpleasant vibe. The food was average cafe food - definitely not up to the standard of the other places along that strip. I’ll be back to frequenting the other...

Overpriced food - cost is not displayed openly for a reason. $36 for two snack cabinet items. Rude staff member - older gentleman became defensive and made snarky comments when he was asked if price he charged us was correct (asked if price was correct as thought we had been overcharged incorrectly which turned out to not be the case - the food was just very expensive). Wait times - took over 15 minutes to heat already cooked cabinet food. Food quality - food was filling and tasted ok however for price paid was underwhelming and not authentic as expected when spending as much as was spent.

Side note - hospitality has been impacted by COVID however this is not a justified reason to overcharge customers and treat them with disrespect when customer questions the money they are spending at the establishment. The establishments location ‘South Yarra West’ does not entitle the establishment to rip off customers whom may have also been impacted by COVID and are trying to live their lives as normal again...

This is a 5/5 for me! This place is just so special. I went late and there was only two other people in there, they were having a lovely chat. I entered when it looked like nearing close and the lovely lady greeted me with such warmth it felt like I was in her house and she was my nana. I asked if they were serving dinner and she sat me right down, she recommended her lamb casserole and that was the best thing I’ve ever ate. The source was just perfect and the lamb was beautiful! Cooked just right. And that garlic bread came out and I knew I was in for something special. I still still my favourite garlic bread is the cheap stuff for sure but this garlic bread had something that those don’t. Love x This meal felt like love, it was warm and hugged me oh so just right! I had probably the best two glasses of Pinot Nior I’ve ever had. This is a must go to place. I think for the best experience head for a nice lunch or do what I did go late, when it’s just starting to get dark. Something about this place...

On our way to the botanical gardens we decided to stop in here for some takeaway smoothies. Upon arrival we walked inside to order at the till located at the rear of the restaurant. We were rudely spoken to by the waiter requesting us to wait outside and order on the pavement. There are no prices shown on any of the takeaway food / drink. We paid $24 for two smoothies. The waitress who brought our smoothies out was completely unfriendly. Overall we wouldn't visit again

Hmm, what should I say? One of the important elements was missing on the Zucchini and Parmesan Crisp! Heated up to takeaway, got to Botanical Gardens, opened and no parmesan Crisp! Not even noticed by person who put it in bag before they gave to me. The pastry was very soggy on bottom, maybe because we had takeaway .... Flavours were nice, but pesto was overpowering towards the end. Anzac biscuit was okay. Almond and apricot tart was good.
