I just moved to the neighbourhood last week and I'm a coffee lover, so I've been on a hunt for a new cafe to call home. I tried domain brasserie this morning and was SO disappointed with the service. I came in just wanting to get a quick coffee this time and only had my credit card. The lady said it's a $10 minimum. Since i had no cash and really needed a coffee (was so tired), i said well can you just charge me the 50 cent fee or whatever? She seemed confused and said no. I was really shocked. Most places will just let it slide one time or just say ok but we have to charge you a small fee, which is fine. I wasn't asking her to not charge the fee for using the machine under $10. In fact I wanted her to, but she refused. So then i'm like ok i'll get this croissant then, is that fine now? She''s like it's $9.50 now.... and just stares at me. So still in shock, I ask is that seriously not enough? She's says it has to be $10. at this point i just found it funny and told her to round it up to $10. So i wasted money (the coffee wasn't even great) for no reason. Too bad nothing else was open in the area or else I would have left and gone elsewhere. Anyway, I hope they are happy for gaining that $6 in exchange for losing a regular customer! I didn't get a chance to sample anything else. I was planning to go back, but unless they decide to magically give me back that $6, no thank you!
You should have some tact working in customer service and be polite. This cafe lacks that so I would not recommend...
Read moreI've never been that impressed with the breakfast at DB, but as I live locally I continue to give them the benefit of the doubt and return to eat every once in a while. After today I will not be eating there again. I ordered the 'spicy baked beans with polenta', and after being brought the wrong meal the first time around I eventually was given what looked like tinned cannelini and kidney beans with peas in canned diced tomato sauce on top of polenta squares with undressed lettuce on the side. The meal was completely tasteless, I didn't bother to finish it. I let the waitress know that considering they advertise it as 'spicy' I would have expected it to have SOME flavour, and I asked if maybe the chef didn't add the seasoning when he was rushing to correct my order, but she said he had made it perfectly. I'm continually underwhelmed by the food at this place and today's experience, as well as the flippant responses of the staff to both my feedback and the mix-up with the order have finally turned me off DB for good. There are plenty of other options in this strip of shops, I'd recommend you look elsewhere for...
Read moreFriendly staff Ordered pancake and the burrito as they sounded really good. It was nothing like what mentioned on the menu. Flavourless and nowhere close to a burrito. Flat and boring. Didn’t taste the pesto or spicy baked beans except it felt like they just add the beans straight out of the can with rockets and an egg inside. I ordered the one without bacon. But don’t think bacon could have saved the dish. May be some kind of relish would be nicer. Also it was served with pile of rockets, With no dressing or piece of lemon. The pancake was no different. Portions were big and the fresh fruits were good. Other than that, there was nothing on that plate was pleasant to eat. Pancakes were dry. As they were served with passionfruit puree that didn’t help the pancake. Was very hard to swallow. Felt like they weren’t made to order. Syrup and butter would have been a good choice to soften the pancake. It was also covered with roasted desiccated coconut on top. Not helping when the pancake is so dry. The powdery and dry coconut gets in the way when you try to swallow...
