This restaurant is not as good as what they want to portray to the whole of Dandenong, it is far from being that. Bought some food through Menulog on 17 October 2023 it was a ' Single Pack for 2' which consisted of lamb shank, some rice etc. In the notes section I specified that no caramelised carrots and no burberries, the Chef did not follow instructions. I called their phone number and spoke to the Chef on duty by the name of "LEE" this is the name he called himself, he then told me that the person who had prepared my order was learning, he was an "Apprentice Che".The Chef then asked me to bring the order back and get another order. When I went back to the restaurant I asked him why he did not check the "Apprentice Chef's" work if he is learning the job, he just gave me a very rude look. Then he spoke in his Afghan native language he probably swore. The second time around it was not good again the Chef prepared the food, the food was VERY BLAND, sauces on containers and finger marks on food cover (Photo attached). I complained and after asking The Chef's work experience he told me he had been working at Afghan Rahimi Restaurant for 6 years, I was shocked as his number of years as a Chef there, it definitely does not show in his cooking, his cooking is very bad. No care was taken at all. I did not enjoy the food ended up throwing it out, it was badly cooked. They have lost a customer. The Chef has quite a lot to learn in interacting with customers. I will not waste my money again at this restaurant. For my time taken to go the restaurant the 2nd time around I requested for 2 cheap Mount Franklin Sparkling water as I wanted to avoid another badly cooked meal! I am sure there are other Afghan Restaurants who cook well and take care, not this one for me. I have told many people not to bother with this restaurant and I will tell many people not to waste their money at this...

Went there with a big group of us being in the area and reading the reviews but left with a sour taste and never returning! Food was WAYYY OVERPRICED and had better quality food else where. The kids meal was priced the same as an adult for 1 skewer and some chips! What’s rip off! Our elderly parents could not eat much so they wanted to share a main but the waitress insisted that we MUST order 1 main dish per adult??!! WTH? WHO are you to dictate how much we order?? And when we explained that they are unable to finish the entire dish themselves, she gave us a “dirty” look and her attitude change to be very bad when she took the rest of the orders! If not for the little kids who were starving, the whole group of us were ready to get up and walk! There are many other better restaurants in the area! We have lived in Middle East and had plenty of the cuisine and when the food arrived and was only average, nothing fancy like the rest of the reviews said! In the end we left with a bad vibe and poor experience after forking almost $300 for this dump! And when we paying the waitress gave us the same bad attitude when taking our money! Such arrogant people! It was clearly a family run business and expected better service when people come to your restaurant to eat, you could at least treat them with respect and dignity but I was embarrassed in front of my whole family for recommending us to come to this restaurant. Never returning to this...

Absolutely incredible! I recently visited the Afghan Hayat restaurant, and I can confidently say it was an experience of a lifetime. The food was absolutely AMAZING—every dish was bursting with authentic flavors that truly captured the essence of traditional Afghan cuisine. It’s clear they put so much love and care into every meal they prepare.

The staff were nothing short of exceptional. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout my visit. Their excellent communication ensured there were no hiccups, and they went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed.

What really stood out was how promptly my order was served. No delays or waiting around—just fresh, hot meals arriving exactly when expected. This level of efficiency is rare these days, and it added to the overall fantastic dining experience.

If you’re looking for something truly unique and unforgettable, Afghan Hayat is a must-visit spot. It’s not just about the delicious food; it’s about immersing yourself in a rich cultural journey right here in your own city. A huge round of applause to everyone involved—you’ve...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Afghan Rahimi Restaurant, and I must say that it was a delightful culinary experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. I tried the Kabuli Pulao, a delicious rice dish with tender meat, raisins, and carrots, which was bursting with flavors and perfectly cooked. I also sampled the Mantu, traditional Afghan dumplings filled with minced meat and topped with a rich tomato sauce and yogurt. The combination of spices and textures was exquisite. The vegetarian options were also impressive, catering to different dietary preferences. I appreciated the variety of dishes available, which allowed me to explore the rich and diverse flavors of Afghan cuisine. Overall, my visit to Afghan Rahimi was a memorable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic taste of Afghanistan in a cozy and welcoming setting.
