I had a fantastic experience at Afghan Kitchen in Dandenong. The hospitality was very inviting, and the Afghan food was delicious. The staff were friendly and provided warm customer service. I enjoyed my meals here so much that I ate at Afghan Kitchen two nights in a row while staying in Dandenong, and both times it did not disappoint.

On the first night, I ordered the butter chicken, which came in a large portion and was very well-priced.

The second night, I opted for takeaway so I could bring some home for my family, We tried the mixed grill kebabs, which included four skewers with both chicken and meat, served with rice, Afghan bread, salad, and dips—all for just $26! We took the kids and their friends here for a spread of some Afghan flavours and most definitely weren’t disappointed.

The place is clean, staff are very welcoming and attentive. The “little boss” showed us to our table and had a laugh with us which made us feel welcome.

We ordered the borani bunjan, lamb shank, chicken masala, butter chicken and mixed kebabs.

The whole lot was delicious and plentiful (with a bit left over). Bread was warm and fresh, meals were so tasty and we will definitely be trying more of the menu.

First time having Afghan food and the standard is through the roof!

What an exceptional level of hospitality from the owners. They were friendly and humorous, it certainly made the visit feel like you were eating at home!

The food was absolutely delicious! The Lamb Karahi was worth every penny. Tender and juicy chucks of lamb made in a very lightly spiced sauce almost like a dry curry. The breads were fresh with crispy and soft portions, and there was a small serve of veggies too.

To wrap it all up, our table of ten was served a nice green tea at the end and a sweet dessert too, no extra charge.
