Went here twice recently and absolutely loved it. Prompt service, a large menu and delicious food. The owners like to make sure everything is all right and are so sweet. Also notably has vegetarian options and a vegan curry on the menu.
The beef bulgogi for two has the best broth I've ever tasted and is a good portion size. I'm obsessed with the seaweed salad which is very light and refreahing and not over-dressed or under-dressed. Most restaurants I go to and order a side salad at the serving size is small, but here it's just the amount I need.
Ive alao had the fried pork dumplings and both times they were very crispy, flavoursome and fresh. The fried chicken is to die for - you can tell it's home made and there is lots of meat even when you buy the boned chicken. The rice cakes with cheese was also good, though for people who haven't had Korean please be warned it is very spicy.
As for the desserts, there are only two on the menu. The green tea icecream was great but the grilled rice cakes with honey a little underwhelming. Both had small serving sizes but the pricing isn't very expensive, around $5.
The only thing I can recommend they change is the menu: with some items it could be a little more explicit what comes in the food. This isn't really a problem if you eat korean often.
Thanks for the amazing food and sercser! Will be...
Read moreHad dinner here on a Friday night after they reopened post lockdown. We had pork and squid hotpot and fried chicken and both were very good. The hotpot comes with 2 serves of rice and 1 instant noodle I think but we accidentally ordered extra rice and noodles because we didn't realise. Definitely 2 generous serves. Also ordered the half sweet spicy fried chicken. Very generous serving that I had to check with the waitstaff to make sure that they hadn't accidentally given us the whole fried chicken. They were very busy and the staff seemed a bit frazzled but they were kind and we didn't mind waiting. I completely understand since it's been 2 months since they've had dine in customers. The food was very good and portions were generous so I am looking forward to coming back and trying the bibimbap and stews. It's a family business so please...
Read moreThis is our local Korean joint we always go for Korean food which is great because there are not many Asian restaurants in the area that is healthy and doesn't have so much MSG in their meals. Meals are always prompt when coming out, nice and hot. We like the honey Korean boneless fried chicken, the Korean spicy cheese rice cakes, glass noodle with beef, seafood fried pancake, beef bulgogi bbq, and the rice is always soft and delicious.
The environment is cosy and small, which is great for even local take out. The service have always been on point and the owner if there always check on customers to see if everything ok.
To find Korean food you would need to head to highpoint shopping centre so I am glad there is one in Essendon.
A+ for being the top Korean restaurant in...
