Uber Delivered: 3rd review: Well. I’m impressed. This is the first time it’s been actually spicy, I’m subtly suffering right now. Nashville hot hasn’t been actually hot before tonight, but I’m on board if this is the spice level it’s meant to be. The breading: what an incredible improvement from review 1. I love the newest breading. Seriously crunchy but with a hint of sweet. Awesome. The chicken was cooked to perfection as usual. Great work guys, I’m glad I stuck with it. So great to see the improvement. Second review: Hot chicken burger & fries. You can’t fault the quality of this place, the food is fresh and cooked so well. The fries were perfect this time. Absolutely perfect. The burger bun was great, the chicken was cooked so well it got a little more salty from the tears of joy it produced, the smoked hot sauce was immaculate and you could smell the smokiness from the bag. The breading was on point, hopefully this is a change in general since I last reviewed, cause it was excellent. But the rest of the ingredients on the burger threw off the flavour balance. This was again a nearly perfect meal, I’m honestly only being so critical because they are clearly quality focused and I think if they maybe worked on the flavour balancing better, this could almost be Hat worthy food. It’s almost amazing. So very close. I’m gonna keep trying and see.
First review: Thighs (hot) with fries. Food was presented really well. Food looked clean and enticing. Crinkle cut fries were really tasty (a herb salt maybe), though could have been cooked a little longer and the sauce was great, Citrusy mayo. I enjoyed them and the serve was decent. The chicken was cooked perfectly, moist….mmmmoyyyysssssst. But yeah, moist. The flavour of the chicken meat was really great, sweet and slightly briny, seasoned beautifully. I also got the blue cheese buttermilk sauce, really good. But, the breading. Possibly too crunchy, not because I don’t like the crunch, but it was a strange contrast of texture and the breading felt thick, almost dry. It’s hard to fully describe. But the problem with the breading was that it was way too deep in taste, not umami deep, like a mix of fry oil and something odd. The flavour balance was way off. Each bite was 50% pure joy 50% complete confusion. Also hot was pretty mild, just a heads up, I should have just gone to Nashville hot (I assume that’s the hottest). This was almost perfect home delivered fried chicken, but that breading needs some work and I hope this was an anomaly, because this place is pretty highly regarded, but that...
Read moreThe food was probably the most hyped all over the internet but sadly today was not the day.
We had ordered the Mac n Cheese Croquettes, Poutine, Flight of Wings and the Bang’n Bird. Good selection across the menu catering to what is advertised and what you seemingly hope for when dining at a place as such.
To start off this underwhelming review, we had ordered the food 30mins before it arrived and once it arrived 2/3s of the dishes were cold. We understand the extra wait times as it was a little busy but this was not the case. We were happy to wait but at least make us wait for some fresh eats.
Upon receiving all our food we were happy to have seen it all come out at once and across the spread everything looked great, until it wasn’t. We got into the croquettes first, nice and warm and the flavours were good. What’d you’d expect from what you ordered but from there it went south. The poutine was just above room temperature warm and the gravy was lacking consistency although the chips were cooked nicely it only lasted so long till it dropped to a crumbly texture (that’s saying a lot given it’s inbetween gravy)
In and out of the poutine we tried the difference pieces of chicken. The disappointment starts. The flight of wings looked cold and sorry, that it was. You can tell by the sauces over the wings starting to seperate but nonetheless we ate it. The first grab into the first bite it was cold very underwhelming and could have been so much better.
The Bang’n Bird. This was the only dish to come out fresh and warm. Loved it, only after biting into it we realised that the skin was slightly overcooked being the only reason why it was “crispy” in the first place. Only thing to make it moist was the sauces on the side that too lacked the consistency of my expectations. But maybe that’s just me.
Worth a try, but I wouldn’t go a...

🍔Hot chicken burger: Fried thigh tossed in smoked hot sauce, cheese, pickled onion, cabbage, jalapeno mayo in a sesame milk bun with fries ($25.00) 🐔 Southern Fried [boneless thighs]: in buttermilk, coated & fried in mild heat with creamy slaw ($25.00)
I spent $40.10 here on my portion, between 2 people.
REVIEW: 🏆 In the starters, we loved the mac & cheese croquettes. Eaten hot, it was so satisfying to bite through the crunchy outer layer and come to the amalgamated cheeses and mac. It was delicious and so cohesive! But when it cooled down, the mac was no longer incorporated with the cheese so it lost a bit of the magic.
⭐ For the mains, between the hot chicken burger and the southern fried thighs, the southern fried thighs was the winner. I'm talking incredibly juicy chicken, a deep fried addictive crumb that's hard to surpass. It makes me wish we could've gone for 2 of the southern fried options and passed over the burger. The burger wasn't doing it for me because it felt... overwhelming. Heavy on the mouth feel, heavy in my hands, heavy in my stomach.
The creamy slaw wasn't my favourite. There's a bitterness to it that my friend didn't mind, but I wasn't a fan. I wish the dressing was more creamy as well. 🫠
Service was friendly and straightforward. Although we booked for 6pm on Friday it was relatively quiet. When we left at 7:15pm, it was quite full so I would suggest...
