I recently visited Blu Seafood in Australia and was genuinely impressed by both the variety and the quality of the dishes on offer. The menu is extensive, featuring everything from classic fish and chips to more gourmet options like garlic butter crab, octopus, and Moreton Bay bugs.
I decided to try the Australian Barramundi combo, which came with chips and salad. The fish was incredibly fresh, grilled perfectly with a light Mediterranean dressing, and the portion size was very generous. The chips were crispy and golden, while the salad added a refreshing balance to the meal.
My girlfriend ordered the Lobster Burger, and it was a real highlight – a combination of tender lobster meat, spicy slaw, and char-grilled pineapple, creating a rich but balanced flavor. We also shared a half dozen Natural Oysters, which were fresh, clean, and served chilled – exactly how they should be.
The drinks menu complemented the food nicely, offering a good selection of Australian wines, beers, and even cocktails. We paired our meal with a Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, which matched the seafood perfectly.
The service was warm, attentive, and efficient, even though the place was busy. Prices were fair considering the portion sizes and the high quality of the seafood.
Overall, Blu Seafood is a fantastic spot for anyone craving fresh Australian seafood. Read moreWhen I first walked in with my family I already knew the customer service was off, When I had to greet the staff first and then he simply just replied if I had a booking. Then shortly after was approached to take our order and I ask for a salad and my was mistakenly taken as a prawn salad. When the prawn salad arrived the first time we had kindly told one of the staff we didn’t order that and then it was brought over again and I told the staff again that I did not order and he kept insisting that I ordered a prawn salad and I told him no I did not. He then said you can just have it and went back to make the correct salad that I had ordered, by the time we were finished our meals. We asked for the bill so we could check the receipt and by no surprise the prawn salad was on the receipt he did not take it off after telling us sorry about that and offered us to just have it. When approaching the register you could see the staff in the back taking about us and obviously knowing we are going to confront them once again about the prawn salad still being charged. The management replied to me did you eat it? I said well yeah we were told that we could just have it after because he had the incorrect order. The prawn salad was $19.90 he only took of $10 because he obviously thought we were stupid and wouldn’t notice. At that point we weren’t even hungry anymore and so over it! Staff kept on making excuses that their fryer was out but we order most grilled meals! When paying, they offered us a $16 discount and a whole lot of excuses. Such horrible service, grumpy disorganized staff, and unprofessional management. Will not be back.
Edit to respond to your reply: We were not happy to continue waiting but we just did as we were with a larger group and didn’t want to cause big issues. We understand things happen however no-one told us there was any issues, your staff where walking around angry and confused until we approached them and asked what was going on. All you needed to do was come to our table, tell us there’s issues, sincerely apologize and maybe give us a drink or something as a sign of apology and appreciation for our patience. We did not want nor demand a full refund, but we were so surprised when the bill was printed (in full) and you didn’t even bother to say, your drinks and maybe a meal is on the house for the unfortunate inconvenience caused.
