We decided to come here for dinner as it was our last night in Melbourne, and my brother-in-law wanted to try kangaroo. We were seated outside along with 4 other tables that were already in use. After a very long period (15-20mins) we had to get the attention of a waitress to get her to take our drinks order which we decided to give her our entire order at once if service was going to be this slow. The drinks arrived, and they were okay. My wife's margarita was warm and didn't feel chilled at all, which in turn meant that when we ordered a second round of drinks, only 3 drinks were ordered, and 2 of them were soft drinks. Our starters arrived, and for the most part, they were good apart from the Southern Chicken Ribs they were very salty in flavor and didn't make them very enjoyable to eat. The mains arrived, and they seemed to have taken forever to arrive infact the waitress cleared another table from outside, then came to our table and told us they were just plating up our dinner which seemed odd as she had not been back inside to have known this unless she was told as she came outside before for she cleared the table. Anyway our mains arrived in 3 different trips from the kitchen and they looked amazing and that's where we were let down a had the Bushmans Shanks and yes the meat fell off the bone the meat was chewy to eat my mash was luke warm and had some lumps in it and there were no beans with my meal. My brother-in-law ordered the Kangaroo Loin, and yes, the meat looked and tasted good, but the Mediterranean salad it was served with more olives than anything else, and I counted at least 15 olives. My wife and her sister ordered the Scotch Fillet one with Mash and the other Roasted Chat Potatoes, which were fine, but the roasted potatoes were cold, and the mash was luke warm as well and the steaks were over cooked as well so a little disappointed in our dinning experience at this restaurant considering we ordered the following between 4 of us and the dollar bucks we spent I was hoping for amazing.

STARTERS

GARLIC & CHEESE BREAD x 2 SCALLOPS TRIO OF SAUSAGE SOUTHERN CHICKEN RIBS PRIME SPICED FRIES

MAINS

SCOTCH FILLET x 2 (one with mash on the side and the other with roasted chat potatoes ) BUSHMAN SHANK ( served with onion rings ) KANGAROO LOIN ( served with buttered corn )

DRINKS

COKE x 2 LEMONADE x 1 CORONA x 1 MARGARITA x 1 PINA COLADA x 1

After 1 hour and 45 minutes, we paid the bill and left, but what else diassapointed me in the service there was I watched another couple arrive about 30mins or more after we did and they left before we did and other couple who sat behind us outside also had to go find wait staff to so they could order also and they arrived about 30mins...

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Butcher's Prime Newquay Promenade Docklands with my son, and while the food was absolutely fantastic, the service left a lot to be desired. We ordered the Whiskey Aged Striploin with Truffle Mayo sauce and the Rib Eye with mushroom cream sauce, both of which were cooked to perfection.

However, our experience with the service was abysmal from the moment we entered the restaurant. Upon arrival, one waitress was engrossed in her mobile phone, while the other conversed with the barman behind the bar. The first waitress, who was still on her phone, seated us and promptly resumed to her phone conversation, ignoring our presence. We had to wait until after four other patrons were seated and served before we were even acknowledged for our order to be taken.

Once we finally caught the attention of the other waitress (not the one on her phone), we inquired about our drinks, as we noticed that tables seated after us had already received their orders. It took approximately 20 minutes for just our drinks to be served, despite there being only six tables in total, making it an unusually slow service.

It is important to emphasize that the saving grace of our dining experience was the spectacular food. The Whiskey Aged Striploin and Rib Eye were cooked to perfection and accompanied by delectable sauces. However, the service was a major letdown and marred an otherwise enjoyable meal.

In conclusion, while Butcher's Prime Newquay Promenade Docklands offers fantastic food, the service was extremely disappointing. The lack of attentiveness from the waitstaff, particularly the waitress constantly on her phone, was quite off-putting. If the restaurant aims to maintain its reputation, improvements in service delivery are necessary to match the outstanding quality of...

It was suppose to be a good dinner experience and to share soumptous food before me and my group friends before head back to Adelaide, but unfortunately it was a worst night experience in Butcher’s Prime Melbourne Victoria. They took our order at around 1910hrs but apparently when we followed up the order around 1950hrs as the kids already hungry that time of wait , surprisingly they said our order did not gone through to their system. We understand mishaps happen specially on busy times, so they took again all the orders another round, some changed the orders. We patiently wait again for another 40 minutes. (Imagine the time wasted instead it was spent to enjoy our stay here in Melbourne Victoria). It was already 2000hrs and we have not get the order for any single of us, good thing the Kids menu already have been expeditely served. 2015hrs we are ready to head out and cancel our order but the staff told us it was ready as they are just plating it. All of us are hungry, tired and felt left out as theres alot of new customers came before and after us who came larer have received their orders. If we have not followed up for the third time and told them that we are ready to leave by then because anyway all of us already loss the apetite, our orders came and complete at 2030hrs which one of the staff still not sure with the order. To be fair the food is so good but how can u enjoy it and share memorable experience with your family and friends if you already loss your appetite due to dissapointments or service we received. I hope this feedback will help to improve the service and system to gave the liberty of the delicous...

I can’t explain to you how much my husband and I would recommend this restaurant. There wasn’t one thing that we could fault. The location was in a prime spot and the ambience was vibey. All of the staff who we were served by were friendly and helpful, Rano was looking after our table and she was so sweet. Now onto the food, my mouth is watering just thinking about it all again. It did not disappoint. Every mouthful it just seemed to get better. We ordered the Tomahawk medium rare which was cooked PERFECTLY (unlike another steak house a few restaurants down), paired with three sauces: Creamy mushroom, Chimichurri & blue cheese butter. All 3 sauces complimented the meat amazingly. We also ordered the corn and it was just what we needed. Every single cocktail that the bartender Roshan made hit the spot. We’ve had too many experiences to count where we’ve ordered a cocktail from other places and it’s not pleasant to drink. You can tell Roshan knows what he’s doing and is great at his job. The cocktails that we ordered were: Lemon Cheesecake, Strawberry Daiquri, Amaretto Sour (the best I’ve ever tasted) and Red Elixir. A good cocktail menu is necessary at a restaurant for me to even consider it. Our bill came to $260 for 2 people but we feel like it was such a value for money considering all we ordered and the experience we had. When we are back in Melbourne, we will definitely be coming back.

I recently had the pleasure of lunching at Butcher Prime with my girlfriend, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance set a perfect tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable culinary journey. To start, we enjoyed the scallops and lamb rib. The scallops were perfectly seared, boasting a delicate flavor that paired beautifully with the accompaniments. The lamb rib was equally impressive, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to top-notch quality. The ingredients were clearly of the highest standard, and you could feel the care and precision that went into each dish. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the steak. Cooked to perfection, it was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Butcher Prime has certainly mastered the art of steak, making it a dish worth coming back for time and time again. Overall, Butcher Prime delivers an exceptional dining experience with its superior ingredients and impeccable execution. It's a place that truly stands out and one I highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-tier meal.
