Calere is one of my go to coffee spots on my days off. Plenty of interesting singles to tickle your taste buds, with delicious cakes and snacks, too. Everything is considered here, even the cups and saucers. I really like it. I am here a few days of the week.
It's been 3 years since I started going Calere and it's one of the best cafes in the city. The retail range pretty impressive. Definitely the best cafe in Fitzroy. Alicia and all the girls do wonderful work and their coffee is always super consistent. You should try the toasties too! Oh, and don't forget the Mörk bun on a Saturday.
Milky coffees on offer are raspberry candy, gateway and white rabbit. All of them are really good, and depending on what coffee I'm getting, that usually dictates my cake choice too. I have the lychee and rose swiss roll with raspberry candy, osmanthis with the raspberry candy and black forest with the gateway. I also like the banana bread and the mörk cakes. People seem to love the cookies. All the toasties are delicious if you want something savoury, chicken and jalepeno is my choice.
The black coffee here is also top notch, there's a comprehensive menu, and many, many Baristas choose to drink their coffee here. Everything is professional, well presented and it offers an excellent experience for all. It is the must visit cafe in Fitzroy, especially along...
Read moreWe were searching for great coffees after having brunch in Fitzroy to get our coffee fix. My friend did a Google search and we decided on Calere Coffee (thanks goodness for Google$. That was the best decision ever as we throughly enjoy our coffee experience here 😊
We loved it that all the coffee orders are customizable through their app, which I think is super awesome.
We opt in for a Latte (with (with Ona Raspberry Candy Fruity Blend), a Magic (with Ona Ecuador Santa Gertrudis Supernatural Typica Majorado (served with Freeze Distilled Milk) and a Osmanthus & Jiu Niang (Fermented Rice Wine) Roll. We absolutely loved our coffees, great flavor with great after taste, particularly the Ecuador (with lingering taste profiles after each sip). The distilled milk did enhance the taste profile of coffee a lot (it’s worth the addition $7 extra in my honest opinion). A definite fireworks of flavors inside the mouth and we loved it a lot.
To top it off, the service was exceptional and shared with us a detailed description of the coffee taste profile and explained how they distilled the milk. Truly educational 😊
We also loved the relaxed ambiance with nice music in the background. Their roll was delicious too.
We will definitely be back to try more coffees,...
Read moreWhen you taste a fine aged malt whiskey or a rare wine and it is so smooth that your taste buds are so excited ,well this is how I felt when I ordered a double espresso coffee with the first one being the house blend and I believe I had the absolute best coffee that I have ever had in my life of enjoying coffee anywhere in the world and especially in Melbourne. It was the smoothest double espresso and such a delight to have it here in this wonderful cafe. Then came the toasties which also were just superb. The chicken and jalapenoes was just wow as was the Pastrami toastie. We also had another coffee but a different blend which was also superb. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This maybe just a hole in the wall cafe but I cannot recommend it enough . This is one of those cafes one must visit often..customers obviously agree as they were...
