One of the best, most authentic Indian food in Melbourne. Every single dish here is the most authentic and full of masala and flavour. No other restaurant even comes close. Most other restaurants have the stereotypical curry that tastes boilerplate and doesn’t have enough flavour. The street food here is extremely authentic and full of flavour. Just to vouch even more, I have lived my entire life in India and have eaten the street food from Delhi, Surat, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, and most parts of Uttar Pradesh. This comes very close. The chaat is very good here and a must try. I always get the Chaat Explosion to get a taste of everything. Get the Chilli Garlic Naan (really good, unlike other wimpy Naans here in Melbourne with their smudge of yellow coloured mystery garlic that has no taste). The Changezi curries are really good if you want to deviate from the usual. The portion size is awesome. Things fill you up pretty nicely for the amount of money you’re paying. The only gripe I have with this restaurant is the bright white lighting during dinner time, the chaos of the music being played and there being minimal space to sit (there are only 2 tables, these are always full, apart from these 2 tables they have “space” connected to the wall but this is very little to comfortably eat).

đŸ”„đŸ’Ż I was amazed at how delicious the Dilli Ki Pav Bhaji ($16.99) was! Craving for this dish, I wanted to order from a nee restaurant on Uber Eats, and this place popped up. Since the price seemed right, I placed my order, and had to wait for quite a while owing to the distance. In addition to that, I also ordered a Mango Lassi ($5) to avail the Uber One offet. đŸ˜‹đŸŒ¶ The pav bhaji was perfect. The 2 buns were lightly fried in butter. The crunchy edges were so good. The bhaji came in a nice container in sufficient quantity and was perfectly cooked. Just the right amount of spiciness, no strange sweet flavour or funny chunks of veggies. Each morsel was a fountain of deliciousness. That's how you know the food has been prepared with love and care. In another smaller container was a slice of lime, pickled onions and cilantro chutney. It was the best. That's it. The lassi was okay, a bit salty in the beginning which decreased towards the bottom. Still, the dish overall was superb. Perusing through their menu, one has to marvel at the creative names for the dishes, and this makes me eant to visit this place and dine in!

This place was such a beautiful surprise 😍 Clean, hygienic and literally transported me to the streets of India 🧡 I will definitely be back. Extensive menu with something for everyone. Things I ordered: Afghan chicken roll (10/10) Think Kathi Roll, Art of Spices Karol Bagh vibes! Chicken Biriyani (8/10) It's actually gravy and masala rice - the only item I enjoyed little less and would give amiss next time. Not to my expectation, but tasty regardless. Chole Bhature (20/10) Think Sitaram Rajouri Garden level taste, the green chutney was straight from the dhabas (THE BEST!!). Consider selling the green chutney and I'll absolutely buy. Pickled onions were great and the chilli pickle đŸ€€ FABBBBB!!!! I will come back to try other things from the menu, for sure. Decor is great, limited seating but superb food. It's got a busy vibe but I LOVE they have maintained hygiene and cleanliness throughout. It shows in everything - cutlery on the table, glasses etc. Give it a go and you absolutely wouldn't regret.

A Disastrous Experience at Chatorey: Unprofessional and Unapologetic

My visit to Chatorey was nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my experience to caution others.

I booked a table through their official website, trusting that the reservation system they advertise would work as intended. Upon arrival, however, I was met with complete indifference. The staff rudely informed me that they do not acknowledge online bookings, claiming their reservation system “doesn’t work.” Instead of taking responsibility for this glaring flaw in their operations, they told me I would have to wait an additional 40 minutes—this, despite the fact that I had a hungry child with me.

What was even more infuriating was their dismissive and hostile attitude. When I raised the issue, I was met with defensiveness rather than an apology. They repeatedly emphasized that the website was “not their responsibility,” essentially washing their hands of the situation. The blame-shifting and lack of empathy were not only unprofessional but downright insulting.

A restaurant that promotes a reservation system it refuses to honor and shows no accountability for its failures is a business that doesn’t respect its customers. Chatorey’s inability to manage such a basic aspect of hospitality—paired with the outright rudeness of the chef—completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable experience.

I strongly urge anyone considering dining at Chatorey to think twice. If they cannot handle something as simple as a reservation, I shudder to think about the other aspects of their service. This was a perfect example of how NOT to treat customers. Chatore has a long way to go before it can be considered a trustworthy or customer-centric establishment. Until then, avoid it...

My experience of this place Chatorey is totally opposite to what I had thought.. Yes you read it right folks! I was very skeptical at first instant since getting Indian food or a fusion food with the peculiar taste buds is way too much of an expectation for someone like me who’s a total vegetarian.. But to my utter surprise I think it turned out to be one of my best decision of trying the Chatorey type food. It was mind blowing especially the Chole Bhatoore which is very difficult to find here or May be u will get this in a packed form in one of the Indian store..I am glad I made a right decision of having it at their food truck.. I was literally awe struck with the plating, the portion size and the heartfelt smiles that was being poured in to further ensure that it tastes better.. @ Mr. Karan it was terrific.. my taste buds have still not come out of that experience and trust you me it was really awesome..To top it up the Samosa chaat was also very nice..I cherished eating it twice and can’t express my feeling that eating Indian food at your place was really divine. I wished I had the opportunity of getting it packed while coming to India..lol..No worries I find myself eating again at your lovely food truck Chatorey sometime soon and this time around I will make sure that I try some fusion too! All the very best guys..Till we meet...
