We checked into our room an hour early. We were appreciative of the slightly early check in. However upon check in we discovered only the bare essentials had been cleaned. No attention to detail had been given at all. The bench tops hadn't seen hot soapy water instead a squirt of cleaner and spray, around the bins was filthy , the area around the windows covered in sticky hand prints, the sides of benches and walls with marks down them, the carpet no vacuumed. The chairs were stained. I was willing to overlook that, however the blanket when our guest pulled it down was covered in some kind of gross sticky creamy stuff. I took it to reception and complained they were happy to send house keeping up but the slightly older lady was quiet disinterested the young man was at least smiling and turned out to be lovely. The cleaner come to the room and fixed the problems and was apologetic, having worked in the industry I enquired what the regime for the excess cleaning (fingerprints and grubby marks etc) was to find out that it was only done weekly not daily. The Bed in the front room I found comfortable. The bathrooms were actually very clean (all the extra time spent in here I am guessing) , the bathrooms are a great size and being 2 definetely a bonus. The View was awesome and I couldn't fault that at all. There was alot of road noise from Flinders Street and the trains running even up high. The location was good (although hard to find and needs better signage), the hotel has huge potential to be awesome but the finishing touches just wasnt there. Normally I would feel $350 a night fair for a two bedroom apartment sleeping four people in the CBD close to transport etc more than fair, however this was overpriced and really you are only paying for the view. There is an easy fix to make this better. The room really just needed a very good deep clean including the furniture and more attention to...
Read moreGood Location was fantastic as it was right across the Melbourne aquarium which was the main reason we went to visit the city. The view from our 2 bedroom standard apartment with a balcony looking out to the city was fantastic as you get to see the south of the city with the river, Crown Casino and promenade. I would also commend our 2 bedroom apartment as spacious for what we are after, which we only stayed one night especially with the extra bed arranged in the living room.
Disliked I was disappointed with the overall cleanliness of the place. For what we paid, I expected a top notch clean apartment which should be a norm regardless its a 2 star or a 5 star accommodation. In the bathroom, finding mould between tiles and grout which can easily be resolved with proper regular cleaning as well as cobwebs and dust gathered in corners on the floor windows and glass sliding door leading out to the balcony all needed a clean as can see marks and smears which deterred the overall experience as soon as we walked into the apartment looking out to the city. asking guests at checkout to take their rubbish out and any recycling to be taken down to reception was not a good experience.
The lady in the front reception during checkout was unfriendly and unwelcoming. After standing in front for some time, I had to go over to the side of the desk so that I can be served which defeated the purpose of having the Perspex barrier on the front counter between staff and clients for minimizing covid. Understand that staff can be busy but need to be aware of guests around her and acknowledge their presence. However, I had a good customer experience during check-in I must say.
And agree with other comments, guests shouldn't be bribed to give 10/10 reviews. Brochure in rooms include instructions for guests to leave 10/10 reviews to earn yourself a $10 Coles giftcard felt...

This is not to say it was bad, just that the description is not accurate.|On arrival, we were checking in and noticed someone sleeping on the furniture in the foyer. It turns out that it was a homeless person and the staff were promptly asking him to move on, but why was this not done when he came in and not after he had sleeping there for, I don’t know how long.|Reception staff were friendly and efficient so we were off to our room.|On entry, the room appeared adequate, especially for the price we paid. Furniture was adequate and it seemed to be OK. On closer inspection, there was a bit of wear and tear on the skirting boards and the shower, but basically OK.|The bed was probably the worst motel bed I have slept on. Not a comfortable bed at all, quite hard.|When you used the toilet, if you lifted the seat the wrong way it would come off in your hands. It was not hot or too cold, but it would have been nice to have a little temperature warm up first thing in the morning, but no go.|The location is quite good, located a short walk from coffee shops, Crown Casino, Southern Cross Train Station and plenty of Tram stops. We stayed because we were going on a cruise the next day so it was a short walk to Tram 109.|The laneway that front the hotel was full of garbage’s to be collected, so much that you could not use the footpath and had to walk on the road.
