If only I could give zero star, I would. CHOOSE ANOTHER DRAGON FRANCHISE: This one is the most horrible Dragon HP since. The google page shown that the shop closed at 23:00, we came around 21:50 ish, there was nothing left on the shelves, all seafood was gone, I saw them taken away full marinated beef container and wrapped them then put away. They left the frozen meat, some of veggies, the mix of fish balls, and some of the noodles. All of the marinated section scallops are gone. Furthermore, we are a group of 4, when we started to sit near the window, the staff with the glasses came over and told us we can not sit there and that station is closed ( there is nowhere left to sit). I asked her to check around, where do we supposed to sit? Do you think we have to sit separately? I really dont know if you underpaid your staff or made them overwork or pissing off your staff so damn much, THEY HATE THE CUSTOMERS SO BAD THEY PUT THE SELECTION AWAY?!!?? 45 minutes away from the closing time, and we are treated LIKE BEGGARS and DISGUSTING ATTITUDE OMG? And the girl wearing glasses: if you hate your job so much, you have to be so inconsiderate. Why dont you quit or give feedback to your employers or get another job If anything, we would consider giving David Hot pot a tried since...

Extremely disrespectful and infuriating experience!!!!

After placing my order, I sat at a four-person table by the window near the entrance, with my table number clearly displayed. About five minutes later, a group of five customers came in. One woman, appearing around 40, impatiently told me in a commanding tone to move to a corner seat. I ignored her.

A few minutes later, they approached a staff member, who came over and told me I had to move because “they came first” and “this table was reserved for them.” I had been there for over five minutes already, yet I was forced to move to a cramped corner seat at a six-person table already partly occupied.

Not long after, the other four people at that table left. The same group of five decided they wanted this table too. Incredibly, the same staff member came over again, asked me to move once more, and even physically moved my things.

Being forced to change seats twice within minutes, despite clearly having my table and order settled, felt unbelievably rude, unreasonable, and disrespectful. This kind of pushy, inconsiderate service is absolutely unacceptable and ruined my...

Firstly, I did not have a bad dining experience here. The food was reasonable and the staff were actually quite friendly, but they did not have the Mala spicy stir fry which is what I get most of the time when I dine at Dragon Hot Pot. I have eaten at many stores including QV, Glen Waverley, Clayton, Doncaster and Adelaide. But this is the first time I’ve had a less than great experience.

I ordered the signature Malatang instead, which don’t get me wrong, I still do order from time to time other stores. The food was consistent with other stores and the staff were friendly. There was a lot of water on the floor next to the fridge closer to the register which was a bit concerning.

Again the absence of the mala Xiang guo is the reason for the lower rating as that’s why I went there in the first place.

This won’t deter me from dining at Dragon Hot Pot but will just mean I’ll have to order something else if I dine at this one again, or make sure I go to one of the other city stores if I want the...

Dragon Hot Pot is a Chinese restaurant located at Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. It is roughly 5 minutes walk from Queen Victoria Market and Melbourne Central. The restaurant serves mala hot pot (spicy soup). Customers can choose the type of dishes including fish, chicken, lamb, beef slices, broccoli, fishball, meatballs, mussels, etc. This stalls does not have other menu like mala xiang guo (spicy stir-fry dish), prickled soup, clear soup (non-spicy soup), etc. Other menus are available only in Swanston Street stall. The menu in Elizabeth Street stall is incomplete and there is also a limited choice of dishes. I personally prefer the stall along Swanston Street. Cheers!

We were wanting a quick meal and something warm for the rainy weather. This branch is a little small with indoor and outdoor seating area, however as it was raining, the indoor area was packed when we got there. The ingredients selection have a good range of vegetables, meat, noodles, and seafood options, although they aren't filled up. We picked some of our favourite hot pot ingredients and took it to the counter to be weighted and select our soup. We got the signature ma la tang in mild. It took some time for it to come out as it was busy, but was worth the wait. We dug straight away into the bowl of delicious and flavoursome broth.
