Located on 280 Lygon Street, in the heart of Brunswick East, sits a gem of a venue that has to be visited to be believed. We stopped to have a business team meeting + lunch, and we were not disappointed. The staff are eagerly attentive, professional, and friendly, and know a thing or two about good local drinks, menus, and special events. Although it may look small from the outside, dont let that fool you, inside theres ample seating, cushioned booths and bar leaners, + tables. It doesn't stop there, though. East Brunswick boasts a lavish hotel upstairs, an additional event space downstairs plus a piano bar next door. (Seriously, there's a lot going on here!) We ordered food that came out in a flash, and it was more than enough to satisfy. Temperatures were perfectly comfortable inside, even though it was scorching 30+ degrees outside. If you're looking for a new local hangout, after work drinks, corp lunches or just need a break from the Melb heat, see the team at East, and ask about their cocktails, you won't be disappointed. PS: Trivia nights are every Wednesday so if you fancy a bit of fun while drinking and laughing the night away, get there early.

šŸ“East Brunswick Hotel, Brunswick East - 3.2 āļø out of 5. I am a big fan of trivia nights and really enjoyed the trivia night here on a Wednesday at 7pm! Trivia night also coincides with $20 burger and sandwich night. We had the: āž–Fried chicken burger ($20 on a Wednesday, otherwise ~$28) āž–Reuben sandwich ($20 on a Wednesday, otherwise ~$26) Both came with chips! I had never seen a Reuben at a pub so I was really excited! I thought it was very flavourful, LOVED the chilli on top, and thought they were super generous with the pastrami. The bread was a tad soggy though. The chicken in the burger was also super tender and had a good ratio of slaw. The trivia was great, I particularly loved the music round. Overall 3.2 āļø out of 5.

East Brunswick Hotel is an all-round fantastic Hotel/Venue/Pub and everything in between!

I had my wedding nearby and decided to book East Brunswick Hotel as our base for me and my bridesmaids + family members. We were all blown away by the quality of the hotel rooms. They were beautifully designed and maintained and just had an air of elegance. Everything you needed was provided and our stay was extremely comfortable. I would stay there again if I needed to be in the area because I don’t think there is any better accommodation. To top it all off all the staff were just incredible. They were super friendly and available to help with whatever you needed, These guys have just cracked the code on how to run a five star hotel!

I also booked the bistro room for a cocktail function in between my wedding ceremony and reception, and it was the best decision I made! I dealt with James the venue manager who was incredible and just so helpful when it came to planning the function. James made the process so easy and we had a bar tub set up with CanapĆ©s and grazing boards which were just incredible. The venue itself was so great with all these awesome murals of great musicians on the walls, And just beautifully styled overall. In my opinion, it’s one of the best looking pubs out there!

I was also lucky enough to enjoy the piano duel on the Saturday night before my wedding. I hadn’t planned to stay up late at all, but when my bridesmaids and I got back and the Pianos had started, we just couldn’t leave. It was so good! The music, the atmosphere, I ended up staying up way later than I should’ve!

I highly recommend the hotel for your next stay, the venue for your next function, or the pub for your next weekend night out, they’re just awesome.

And thank you James and team for your wonderful service It was very much...

East Brunswick hotel wasn’t what we expected. We had a Christmas party here about 5 years ago so we were looking forward to having it here again. To start the night we were in the bar waiting for the time to go into our function area, when I got a phone call accusing us of moving a table upstairs to our function room, and told us they were removing the table which was fine. We hadn’t been in the room at all. The bar wasn’t ready for us when we were supposed to start, they didn’t even have any coke at all for mixers. The poor barman was so overwhelmed and tried to get it sorted out quickly. The same person also accused the guys of being racist whilst out on the balcony, they were drunk at very loud but not racist at all. We are a multicultural workplace where everyone is treated the same. They then decided that the security guard should stay upstairs, he kept cutting off the bar to everyone when he got upset until he was ready to open it up again which was very childish, this happened several times. We have a function every year and never have any trouble or cause any trouble. I will never set foot in this pub again if this is how they treat people who have spent a lot of money in one night, it was...
