Dining at Figlia was a great experience. Their mezze quality was outstanding, from the octopus skewers, to the burn carrot and anchovy, the cauliflower and the pippies were just what we needed on a cold day. Oh and soaking up the sauce from the pipipies dish with some focaccia was the best part. It’s like we were eating at home.
Now when it comes to pizza you can’t go past a Margherita. Not just because it’s simple flavours that work together, but also that it doesn’t mask the flavour of the pizza base. (We are the same with pasta, we want to taste the pasta, and not just sauce that masks it). The dough was great, however we would have preferred a thicker and fluffier crust on the perimeter, but none the less it was a great sourdough base. Perfect amount of char, thin but held well, great amount of chew. It was delicious. Add to that the fresh passata, mozzarella and basil, it was a perfect match. Throughly enjoyed the pizza.
It’s great to see a restaurant serving up great snacks leading up to a pizza apart from the usual standard fare you get at many places. The quality was fantastic, fresh, creative and flavours were balanced.
Service was excellent; it was a busy night and the maître d' ran the show like clock work at the most hectic of times. He was attentive, food came out in time, and his recommendations were appreciated. The limoncello was a grateful touch at the end of the night.
For drinks, their wine selection is through and we went for a bottle of Cherubini Sui Generis Blanc de Blancs from Franciacorta, and this reaffirmed our love of wines from that region. The perfect companion for a great feed.
We highly recommend you dine here and be sure to make a reservation as the place gets packed.
Now we are looking forward to Grana (next door) on Thursday for some charcuterie and fromage. Grana, which is part of the same group under the Conferre Group (Figlia, Osteria Ilaria, Tipo00) is a wine bar we have been eyeing for some time now and the...

I recently dined at Figlia as part of a large group gathering, and while the evening was filled with lively conversation and a warm ambiance, the culinary experience offered both highs and modest moments.
The meal began with a selection of shared appetizers: meat ball polpette, arancini, cacio e pepe, mortadella served on crisp bread, caponata. Each was beautifully presented, with the arancini standing out for its golden crust and satisfying bite. The carpaccio was delicately seasoned, and the mortadella on toast brought a welcome richness. Overall, a strong start that showcased both visual appeal and thoughtful preparation.
For mains, we shared a mix of pastas and pizzas. While the pizzas were good, well fired and flavorful, they didnt quite leave a lasting impression for me. The pastas, on the other hand, were more compelling. Their texture, balance, and seasoning made them the clear highlight of the main course offerings.
What truly elevated the evening, however, was the service. Our server, Georgia, was exemplary. Attentive without being intrusive, she ensured glasses remained full, requests were promptly met, and every guest felt genuinely cared for. In an era where service can sometimes feel transactional, Georgia brought warmth and professionalism that deserve special commendation.
Cleanliness throughout the restaurant was excellent, adding to the overall sense of comfort and care.
It was also a pleasure to finish off the evening with a great coffee. rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed, it added a final note of satisfaction to the meal.
In summary, Figlia offers a welcoming, cozy setting with food that is enjoyable and well executed in parts. The service, however, is where Figlia truly shines. I would gladly return, if not for the pasta, then certainly to explore more of the menu and experience that exceptional...
Read moreVery disappointing and nowhere close to as good as Tipo 00.
-firstly there’s only two floor staffs on the weekend making it difficult to have their attention as attentive as they are trying to be -staff don’t ask about size preference in term of beer, or how well done you want your steak to be cooked which was odd, but perhaps they were in a rush due to how understaffed the floor felt -for the price the food was absolutely disappointing. The portion is small, lack that punch of flavour. When it comes to the steak , by the time it reach the table it was legit cold, it has probably been sitting for awhile. They waiter didn’t ask what our steak preferences was. The vegetable that came with it was burnt (as in the picture) and usually I do love a good roasted vegetable but I kid you not this was BITTER BURNT. The steak being cold was also a huge disappointment. I’m guessing they saw last minute that we had polenta chips and try to pair it together as the polenta chips came pipping hot (in a messy unarranged way unlike the squared box they usually arranged in) and try to serve it together which ruined the steak. -the rest of the food we got was average at best, gnocchi was prob the best dish of the night -we spent a little over $200 in total bills for foods plus two drinks and got a variety of foods from each sections and I’m a pretty big foodie
My recommendation is to save your money and get better pasta and food at their sister restaurants and probably don’t get the steak here (asado, Palermo, and their sisters restaurant all have constantly good foods and consistent quality so you’re also better off there)
It was extra disappointing as I was there for my partner’s birthday, I made aware of it on the booking too, no candle no happy birthday writing or anything on the dessert despite the request, and tiramisu was okay but I geniunly had better in similar priced place. Geniunly...
