Good Things Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

Extremely disappointed in this establishment and the staff running the door. My friends and I came across the Daria event on Eventbrite that this establishment was hosting. The evenbrite page did list presale tickets to basically avoid lining up but did not state any mention of no entrance without ticket. We arrive at 10pm (the advertised start time) and are told at the door that without a ticket we would not be granted entry untill after 12am. When questioning this the woman told us it had been posted on facebook and we would have recieved a notification of the change. Well we didnt find/follow this event on facebook we focused soley in the official eventbrite page, relying on this to be the most accurate source of information. When we informed her of this she basically told us bad luck. That by letting us in someone who had purchased a ticket would miss out. I asked if a person/s who had a ticket left before 12am could we then enter early as clearly the capacity would now allow it and nobody would miss out. Her response was to become quite harsh and state that no, she would not tell is again, there is no way we are getting in before 12. When I pointed out the flaw in her argument she became quite heated and stated that she would not discuss this with us anymore and that we would be welcome after 12am but that for now there is no way she was letting us in. As far as I am concerned the posting of a change on a social media outlet should not overide the advertised details of an official event page and we should not have been penalised for this fault in the advertising process. I'm appalled at the service provided, firstly we waited outside with no consideration or thought to politely inform us they will be opening a few minutes late. We walked in excited and to our surprise we were greeted with attitude the young brunette girl behind the bar hardly looked at us and with out love or compassion poured our drinks like she was forced, she provided dirty cups for the shots in which she didn't replace I actually replaced my own glass. We ordered golden gaytime martinis the girl behind the bar gave us tickets which were not numbered and no instructions given expecting us to know what to do, meanwhile other people were getting their gaytime martinis before us. The bar tenders were just chatting and no smiles to welcome others coming into the venue, the would finish their conversation before serving others. Ive never seen anything like this being in business myself. I'd suggest training be provided and business assistance to enhance customer service and business revenue and profits. Stay away I do...

Warning warning warning!!! Promoters, do not use this venue!!! They are money hungry thieves. They will shut you down if they feel they are not making enough money at the bar. They do not care about your event at all. We paid in advance for two tickets to see two performers. One that started at 2.30am and the other at 3.30am. They were the two main acts but the venue shut it down at 2am because they thought that not enough drinks were being purchased. The two of us spent well over $100 in drinks everyone else bought drinks also but it was not enough for the money hungry grommits. Their drinks are so overpriced it is ridiculous also, grrrrrrr. Be warmed this venue is a rort and they should be red flagged as scammers.🚩🚩🚩 Do not use this place for your events if you care about the people attending your gig they will be ripped off.
