Talk To Me — Restaurant in Melbourne

I booked a private work function at Talk to Me bar in its Courtyard for around 30-40 people and Antonio was a delight to deal with. He was extremely friendly, open and upfront over text and wanted to work with me to make sure the venue was the right fit for the number of guests I was expecting. I paid in advance for a bar tab and the night went extremely smoothly, everyone commented that they had a great time.

The staff were really attentive too, Antonio had let them know to expect me and even prepared some paper wristbands for the bar tab. Mikaela particularly was a great help, checking in to make sure things were going well and no-nonsense would get you what you needed. There was no food but the staff on the night said they were happy for folks to buy food elsewhere and bring it back into the bar, so a few of us ended up doing that and were happy.

Towards the end of the night the usual Saturday night crowd started showing up which made the bar inside heaps busier whenever we ventured back inside for more drinks but we had already been at the courtyard for hours and were wrapping up. (We had been spoilt having it all to ourselves beforehand hee hee 😉)

I would definitely come back again...

This venue could have been incredible, but the service from the owner is a complete disaster. We booked the entire venue for a private event, and instead of a seamless experience, we found ourselves helping the manager open the bar as our guests were walking in because he was only told about the event an hour before (definitely not his fault). To top it off, the bartender showed up late, the food was incredibly late to arrive, there was no toilet paper in the toilets and when we reached out to Antonio about the issues during the event, he completely failed to even respond. We had a guest behind the bar helping to make drinks and one of us girls who booked the venue helping to unpack the dishwasher. Funny how quickly Antonio replies when money is involved, but when it comes to actually delivering on what you pay for he is completely silent, evasive and fails to take any accountability for his actions (or lack thereof). We spent thousands of dollars on this event and got practically nothing in return. The manager, did everything he could to salvage the situation, however it was complete chaos and beyond saving. I would never recommend this venue for a private function nor would I ever...

This venue absolutely exceeded our expectations and made our private event unforgettable. From the moment we booked, Antonio was incredibly responsive and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Communication was prompt and professional every step of the way, and it was clear that Antonio genuinely cared about our experience—not just the business side of things.

On the day of the event, everything was set up perfectly ahead of time. The bar was ready to go, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and totally on the ball. Food service was on time and delicious, and our guests were so impressed with the atmosphere and attention to detail. Special shoutout to G, the venue manager, who was an absolute legend and made sure everything was seamless throughout the night.
